Even going off the principle that the rifter is cannon fodder (it isn't, I usually live when I fly one in a fleet), I would much rather die in a 500k rifter to secure the kill of a 200m ship, especially because by dying I get free insurance money.
Thinking about that, probe probably made bank in that first week when he lost like 20 rifters :p
Also the rifter is more fun to fly imo, you actually do something besides hitting approach or hitting align while f1ing. It feels great to be the hero rifter, and all it takes is you to point something to be considered a hero rifter :D
In fact, I want to fly my rifter a bit more while training for the sleipnir if kwark will let me, because he apparently wants to murder all my canes.
Oh good, my 200th post is praising the rifter :D

he had raven friend and they were flying around in atlar so i probed them down and went in to catch them at mission gate. tackled one and other one took the gate. killed this guy and noticed that other raven died inside the mission so i went in to loot him aswell.

Well of course he died inside, the mission, you blew up his logi.
You cant seriously expect a single raven to tank a level 4 mission do you?

it was vengeance tho. he managed to get webscrammed and looked like he aggroed more than he should aswell.

Spider tanked suggests there are multiple (more than 3) legs. In this case it's probably just two raven's pulling a 69.

Went roaming a bit in my wolf tonight. I found a smartbombing rokh which i shot for a little, then left. In ec- i warped around looking for a fight. I landed on a dram which scrammed me, then apparently decided, despite having 20 friends in local that i was too scary, so he ran away.

Hey guys,
I'm looking to getting back into EvE, I have been playing on and off for many years now, furthest I had gotten was a mael full T2 arti, however, I fear that the game may have progressed a little bit since the last time that I have played.
Generally I'm hoping to find a mentor who can teach me in the ways to becoming a feared PvP pilot, I am also a student at university so I have very little cash to throw around at monthly games so any advice on how to earn enough iksies for a plex would be greatly appreciate (within the first 21 days, if that is doable)

I'm not going to create the account untill I have planned my stuff out, otherwise I'm going to lose alot of game time on trash.

Cool, not sure what most of that meant lol O_O. I read that there were 4 races/people to choose from. I was talking to my IRL friend today on the phone and told him im gonna give eve a try starting mid november. He tried it a long time ago and couldnt figure anything out so he quit. I told him I got TL backing me up and are gonna teach me how to go from nub -to- noob -to- omghesogosu :D
got him wanting to play again so he is re-downloading.

Your choice of starting race and bloodline is virtually meaningless from a Hatchery standpoint. Pick one who you can stand be the face of you in Eve. If you didn't care about that at all, pick Minmatar as it will shave a few hours off of your time between starting the character and flying a rifter.
