Imagine someone you dislike. Maybe you feel the person has reaped unjust rewards in their life. Maybe their philosophy seems outlandish/reckless/idiotic. Maybe you just don't like their face. Imagine this person you don't like and ask yourself whether you'd pay a dollar to have them lose ninety-nine. This isn't exactly the same problem, economically speaking, but it evokes an extremely similar partition of the human experience. Spite has a real dollar value, and you can refer to companies that suffered from boycotts if you can't convince yourself of this point.
Once again, motbob is right and everyone else mucks it up by changing the problem and/or the English language.

So I agree with you that many people value spite even while personally disagreeing. My quote is a personal statement rather than global, which I thought was clear from the context of the post. It probably could have been clarified to "no other personal gain."

FA finances finally got published after like 6 months of "it'll be out next week". FA has 172b of misc assets. Assets which were listed separately and therefore do not make up misc include sov upgrades, SRF stock, POS stuff, moon goo, pos fuel and production related things. I have absolutely no idea how you can have 172b of misc that doesn't include any of those.

This kind of thing bothers me. Why is it so fucked up and warped? Is it supposed to be a helmet or some other non-Euclidean surface?
