Besides atlas dying in a fire and some juicy bobby drama that can be found on kugu, -a- is all but dead, about 3 corps or so left and losing sov rapidly. That and goons are the 2nd largest alliance behind IT because they've decided that having 4.5k people in your alliance decreases your chance of a director screwing up your sov bill while your soon to be "i'm gonna scam and disband the alliance" ceo is on honeymoon : >

So I've been looking into this game for the past few weeks and looking at the history, politics, and actual game itself, it looks freaking awesome. But I have a couple of questions: how big of a timesink is needed to actually enjoy the game a good amount? Between school and work I'd be able to put in an hour a day probably and maybe a little longer or less on the weekends depending on the weekend. Also, I'd have to run it on my macbook pro (2.1 GHz and 1GB memory).

Taking all that in consideration, is it possible (and not a bad idea) to sign up?

Considering the amount of time you have to play, this would be the best game of its type to get into as even if your logged off things are training, progressing you forward. Other then that, you really need to get a trial to figure out the rest, just keep in mind that what you witness during that time is only a small portion of whats out there.
