I imagine they will introduce it as soon as they bug test it to death and beyond, this will be the biggest change in as long as I can remember as it very dramatically affects every single character in the game. The repucussions would be great if something went wrong. Best post on that forum :p How is removing learning skills going to work? Are they rehauling the training mechanics as well?

CCP has admitted in the past that learning skills was bad game design, but some people like them and argue for them. Look up one of the 100 or so page flamewars in the skill discussion forum. CCP will remove them at some point, but not until they have found a solution good enough to please both sides of the argument. This skill point reimbursment thing they implemented earlier might be a precursor to a learning skill change.

For anyone who finds this interesting but doesn't actively play eve wormholes are doorways from one part of space to another random part. Sometimes they lead to safe bits, sometimes to unsafe and sometimes to unknown space from which it's impossible to get back by conventional means (stargates) because you have no idea where you are and there are no stargates. You can either keep going forwards through more wormholes (if you can find them) or retrace your steps. You need to be holding special equipment to find new wormholes which left us kinda fucked when the one we used to get in and planned to exit by collapsed. Fortunately myself and one other had the specialist equipment but even then it's a bit hit and miss and time consuming. Also we were spread across two areas of unknown space connected by another wormhole that was rapidly collapsing and both of the probers (people who can probe for wormholes) were on the same side while the rest of the fleet and all the loot were on the other. Wormhole living player pirates then struck our group which didn't really have much room to run, killing WP who was flying the only big combat ship of the lot of us. He was holding some of the loot but the majority of it escaped. Then as our main probing ship (I was just carrying it as a backup) went to help them he managed to get his incredibly stealthy hard to lose ship decloaked and blown up for considerably more than the value of all our loot (and probably the rest of our fleet combined). That left us with a budget fitted caracal, a salvaging ship, WP's alt which was defenceless and used simply as a cloaked scout and myself in a horrible fit. So, thus began our 2 hour epic of survival, betrayal, friendships made and broken and eventually redemption after all hope was lost. More than once we were advised to simply destroy ourselves and respawn in known space but we kept at it and eventually we all made it to safety. The loot we managed to take with us was tallied and turned out to cover all our losses except the hideously expensive probing ship which it turned out had faction fittings and t2 rigs and makes me sad.

Then some more experienced players came on and we got a bigger group together and tried for a bigger op. Things were going okay (although the profit left a little to be desired) until our exit collapsed and left us stranded with between two wormholes. Furthermore every now and then on scan we seemed to pick up on someone probing us down. That's when the miscommunications started. I live in a WH and there are a few ways to avoid getting trapped. It sounds like you didn't check the info on the WH itself, as that would have told you if the WH was EOL (End of life) which means that the WH has a maximum 6 hours remaining on it before it collapses. It's also definitely worth googling the actual name of the WH itself (k162, h296 etc.) so you know where it goes. Before you go out doing sites you should have a dedicated team go into the WH in question, probe it out, look for POS's to determine if the WH might be hostile and bookmark everything and anything (especially WH's) so that they can come back, copy all the bookmarks and give them to the rest of the fleet so that nobody gets lost. You might also want to try this website for doing sites and the like inside a WH, as it can be really useful to know the Class of WH that you're in: http://www.ellatha.com/eve/WormholeSystemslist.asp Anyways, nice to see that TL formally trecked out to a WH. ![]()

After reimbursing the drake that left us with 11m profit each which has been paid. If the loot in WP's drake's hold had been saved it would have been a little over 15m each. Next time I'm carrying the profit because being in a drake, I'm unkillable. Also I logged on today to find no skill training. FML. Or you get a guy in a cloaked iteron V :D

And it really doesn't say much for how dangersous it was that as far as I knew it was defenceless and unarmed.
