Were you the one that made rigs all the time?

Yeah. He kept bragging about making 200mil a day, and deciding to stop doing it cause he got bored. Damn you Vil.

no, its not about luck at all, and its not even about intelligence. its just knowing about insta undocks.
and yeah i liked bragging about making isk more than the actual money making :p (buying salvage en-masse is pretty soul-crushing though)

I like Mukk T_T
Edit: Oh yeah, I've been getting a few escalations during my exploration. However, they take too long for me to do solo. If anyone in the Hatchery/TL is interested, next time I get a potentially profitable one (chance for 1bil+ module drop) let me know! Not even going to try to do them in a 150dps pilgrim. Two people should only take about an hour or less though. Always.

If it's not about intelligence, how is a person dumb if he dies in empire? Yes, I have trouble with people who are flailing around the word dumb without knowing what it means.

guess you're right, i should have said ignorant.

I've had two GSO's escalate so far, and one Gurista outpost (low grade crystal delta!). I think the outpost is a 6/10? IIRC the GSO's escalation went into Gurista Surveillance squad which I think was a 5 part escalation that I didn't have time to pursue, and the outpost went into Gurista production shipment which the internet tells me can drop the pith-A type booster, but I didn't pursue it since I assumed my dps wouldn't be enough.
Is there a good site which has a relatively up to date guide to escalation missions Jayme? Google isn't being too helpful.

Confirming Vil is a poser rig maker.
Although I too carried hundreds of mils around in T1 frigs and Indies in Jita all the time and never once got ganked.
|
Confirming Vil likes to stretch his earnings out a bit. Last time I checked (like 5 months ago) the usual pvp riggings you only earned about 100-300k profit if you bought all the salvage from jita and had decently researched BPO to make them off of.
|
You checked wrong, making isk with rigs is easy(hey even I did it for about 2weeks), while returns per item maybe 6-8% it's the bulk that counts, medium CDFE's and trimarks were good while cargohold optimisation gives the highest % return they don't sell as much. I did this in May I think and I imagine returns were much higher 3-5months back since the tit of rig production wasn't being sucked on as furiously.
And lets not forget how medium CDFE's were 8mil after patch release, too bad I'm uber nonconformist and didn't jump on the bandwagon

There really isn't a good place to get that information, you just have to do it.
This is why you need a t3...The Gallente one can solo Gurista 10/10..

Pssh, I did rig production like last October when margins were insane and competition was small. The market is a ton more competitive and saturated now.

Just talk to dexx or me to figure out some things or write me a a short evemail about what you can fly and what you like to focus on in the future if you fail to catch me, just so we know what to do with you and where we can best push you further.
My sleeping schedule is focussed on aussie TZ for random reasons right now, I'll try to get in on the eurobrigade for the JF runs today though. =X
ALSO VIL COME BACK PRETTY PLEASE I NEED HELP AGAINST THE BEARBRIGADE
(How exactly does exploration work and what ships do you need? =D)
On the suicide gank discussion, I only got suicided ganked once (I think?) and that was with someone elses isk in the cargohold (hi motbob!). I call victory!

WARNING: SUPER LONG EVE METAGAMING POST I'll was going to try to put out an abridged/tl;dr version but with eve these walls of texts seem almost inescable
GC and CoW (friends from back in the Great Wildlands and Syndicate pirate days) wanted to try their hand as 0.0 holders, so they talked to Atlas (who had, after several near failscades, become a superpower in the South) to move into Scalding Pass. An agreement was made with Atlas that GC/CoW would move into the Scalding Pass constellations with Atlas' blessing as independent entities (non rent paying pets I guess you could say), would blue them and their renters, fleet up when they asked Cow/GC to, and generally act as vassals. After that, GC/CoW leadership invited Primary., (alliance high ups had know the leadership for quite some time) to join the Scalding Party.
The huge disparity in supercap fleets (not to mention sheer numbers of pilots) meant that GC/CoW would never have held up against any serious Atlas attempt to evict CoW/GC from their space and if CoW/GC got their sov attacked by any serious alliance with good numbers and a decent of capfleet, they would have needed Atlas help to hold onto the space. However because of the quality (or lack thereof) of Scalding Pass, this problem was never encountered until much later after the installation of CoW and GC in the region.
Scalding Pass is basically the asshole of 0.0 EvE. It has either the lowest or second lowest number of high end moons of any region in nullsec, it doesn't have easy/close routes to empire and the ratting is much shitter than other regions that are similarily isolated from high sec (Stain comes to mind). WIth the Dominion expansion, however, this changed somewhat (insofar as that any system with upgraded anoms/industry shit became a viable isk generation option as well as the rent you could charge carebear corps to live in that upgraded space). Furthermore, before old Provi died, there were pretty good hunting grounds to get fights that were in close proximity to HQ. (which suited many of the original ~~wolfpack~~ pure pvp types that filled GC/CoW numbers at the beginning (especially in the more PVP oriented corps). So GC mainly stayed quiet on the wider political EVE scene while 30-50 man gank BC gangs with a small competent core of FCs and pvpers terrorized late USTZ in Scalding/GW/Provi/Curse. Those were the gangs where I cut my teeth on the mechanics and art of eve PVP. The remaining 1200+ spent their time spinning/carrier anoming and ratting and god knows what else.
Finally, fed up with the stagnation in both the North and the South, Atlas got it touch with GC/CoW leadership about a roadtrip to Geminate during winter '09 to boot out Wildly Innapropriate and reappropriate their Tech/high ends in the region. The campaign was a huge success, thanks in equal parts to the competency of the Atlas leadership/fcing at the time, the 'indifference of the NC as a whole to WI's troubles, and the failure of WI on both tactical and strategical levels. The downside of this campaign (other than losing the tech moons we got when those fucking Russians scumbags turned on us), is that the majority of quality, old-guards Atlas fcs/directors burned out and quit.
The next road trip that GC/CoW (Primary weren't allowed to come and are still bitter about it, but should consider themselves lucky) took, was Molle the Mongoloid's MAX2 abortion. The coordination was piss poor, none of us directors had access to proper channels/ts/jabber etc. and it resulted (as everyone has seen) in a large cluster fuck. When I wasn't dealing with Liquid inc. logi issues, I tried to join all the DOOM. fleets I could because they were *gasp* somewhat sure of what they were doing.
By the time the general "derp.. we fucked up" message came out and we were on the way back, some French faggots had already began dropping SBUs and being general nuisances in our home systems. Mya (GC alliance leader) had also gone afk from eve due to RL issues at the time, so we were working with a really ineffective group of directors/CEOs trying to figure where to go next. Goons and Dreddit had decided to come down and dick around, so we didn't have much breathing room to ponder the best decisions.
While all this is going on, the executor corp of Primary. (who were given space by GC/CoW) scam the rest of their alliance, GC/CoW, as well as HTA (atlas renter looking to expand), by selling about 33b of space that was never theirs in the first place to the aforementioned HTA. After a hilarious TS meeting with the HTA "officials," in which they are basically told to get fucked, the Woopatang (Primary exec corp) CEO makes some hilariously bad excuses and then fucks off with the part of his alliance that he deems worthy to keep around (how that's anymore than 5 out of their 1750k alliance is certainly a different question.
By this point, BUSA (most cap heavy GC corp) was already in talks to join Atlas (Lollerskates, how's that going Dexster, btw, don't bump your titty of towers) a couple of useless corps (whose names escape me now) had already/were in the process of evac'ing (HOC and the Executioners or something) so it basically continued to roll from there. Alliance assets were evac'd, I evac'd virtually all corp members' assets in SP 'and moved on myself.
For all the shit that happened, I regret nothing and have to give props to Mya for building a strong, relevant 0.0 alliance in less than a year.
In terms of liquid inc., Revo is working on rebuilding and the more impatient ones are flying the Criumverate up in PB.

I helped out a lot too! I evolved into an overlord, and now I'm devolving back into a drone. Got to mine those iskies!
I'll make a posting of what I've gotten so far from exploration and what ships I use after this CTA I"m on.
Edit: + Show Spoiler +
So its about 200 mil worth of random stuff that took me about a week to gather, and about 8-12 hours of afk/scanning/exploration time. Not exactly as good as level IV missions, but whatever, its laid back. If I was actively doing it I could probably lower the time down to 6 hours or so provided neutrals don't try to scan me down.
