Is forms of piracy (IE: taking off stray ships and stealing their shit and whatnot) an overall horrendous thing to do? It seems like something pretty fun and adrenaline pumping. Having entire organizations putting out hits for you, as you're going around doing your thing. I mean, I'm willing to work for what I need to---I just don't want to put my time into it if I need to work for a year to get decent stuff and in one battle lose it all and have to work for another 6 months to get it all back. Basicly if you set up your character properly the first 2-3 weeks are stupid and boring. (Learning skills) After about 1 month total you're in a solid frigate which can be usefull to fleets and is fun to solo in. After about 3 months total you should be in a T2 fitted BC OR a T2 frigate of your choice, that's when the fun starts imo. After about 6 months total you can be in a solid fitted BS (not for soloing) or a properly fitted HAC (T2 cruiser) for solo/gang work. Make sure you join #teamliquid ingame channel, in the beginning it's no problem to help you out with isk, also losing T1 ships is not expensive at all, they are replaced fast. Piracy is all we do in the TL corp and it's quite awesome. Also we have quite some people who are awesome at soloing and do it on a regular basis. Check this thread for the TL corp: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=88359 Or ingame channels #teamliquid or SCBW ... I'd really say eve starts being fun after like 3 months mostly, especially when you're into soloing.

Everyone should do this when starting out. It helps you grow balls, and not get nervous when you are in a future PvP engagement you are looking to win.

Only takes approximately a month and a half to be in properly fitted T1 BC with appropriate T2 tank. All the ships you'll be flying in the first couple of months are easily replaced since the Alliance lives in a pretty nice place. Just make a trial account with some random name and join the ingame Channels like Revo said to get all the information you'll need to know about what really happens in Eve, and what to expect.

EDIT: Meh, just gonna start a new account. I forgot everything so I might as well just start from the basics.

I played a good month or so before the bills were adding up (paying for EVE AND WoW AND Xbox Live was not fun. I quit WoW, and my bro pays for XBL now so it should be easier). So, if I could find out that info I could jump back in with a solid ship. EDIT: Meh, just gonna start a new account. I forgot everything so I might as well just start from the basics. Yeah, just don't plan to play for the first two weeks and meet us in our channels =D The new system allows to finish the learning skillls in like 10 days, then it's time for the fun stuff.

and add your skillplan into it and add recommendations which basically minimizes the training time for that plan by telling you what learning skills to train. But with your boost I would personally get most if not all the learnin skills to lvl 3/4 or 5. They speed up training a lot in the future.
