"Defending" isn't going to be necessary much longer. AAA has stated publicly on the Russian EVE boards that they have no plans on ever revisiting Querious and Kenny isn't logging in anymore.

Source (in Russian)

While it may be a feint to try and get Goonfleet & Co to attack 49-U, KenGoku morale is completely in the gutter and AAA, an alliance that notoriously has ADD regarding POS wars, will not defend KenGoku's space for them when KenGoku won't even log in.

Here's the translated posts:

+ Show Spoiler +
(some KB with some totally different war goes here)

I want to say a couple of words.

The Querious situation exhausted us, and we have given the alliance a small break. There is a well known phenomenon called postwar syndrome, where, after the stresses of a war, real life seems unreal and strange. Something like that is going on in EVE right now. During the "peaceful" days, before the
attack on H74, we also took a break and had some good pew, but the thought of going back to the trenches was always in the back of my mind. A lot of the pleasure of the pew (we took a frigate gang into Providence and scored 100+ kills) was erased because of that.

This time around, when once again we got some mass pew without lag, scum and hatred, with goodfights and well executed tactics, something hit me. A half year ago, EVE was like that for us all the time. We pewed with our neighbors for sport. Yeah, we killed nearby alliances, but this is a game - people who can do that do it and the losers start over. Today, we have tons of hatred and rage, victory at any cost and by any means necessary.

Reading hostile forums as part of CEO-dom, I can't get used to the other side's (lolgoons) concentrated hatred of their enemies. "Burn", "trample", "censored" and "censored" - from post to post, from topic to topic. I won't repost this stuff - those who read it know, the rest are better off without it. I see that people don't realize the difference between a callout and aggression, between sporting competition and hatred, between prevailing over the enemy and his total annihilation.

How did we always see politics in LGK? The most important thing was to have the biggest amount of targets. For talented soloers, for roaming gangs, for gangs of 100+, and for random inter-corp pew, nobody needs a cobalt POS or to have good constellations. Yes, as guardians of the forest, we periodically pruned the dying and useless alliances. New ones arose in their place, their leaders learned, and now ex-KOS are burning their full share of napalm as part of PL.

When I look at the black and white universe of the "other" side, who almost never flies fun roaming ops, doesn't have friends (just uses their allies), doesn't play for sport but hates and wants blood (and doesn't hesitate to cross over into IRL in any situation as soon as it becomes possible), I get an unpleasant feeling. I don't see the "other" side having any fun-pvp alliances who fight for pleasure. It's possible that I'm not reading all their forums and don't know their internal life well, but what I see is a muddy stream of teenage aggression and the desire to pay back for childish hurts.

I think that we can keep this in check and we have a lot of good days on the hospitable front lawns of Providence ahead of us. There's a long time until we get there, and things could always get worse, but as they say, to live is to hope.

The first reply is this:
+ Show Spoiler +

Blaster Worm, it's quite possible that this serious business mentality on their part is not just because of their childish hurts, but because they're also tired. This war is taking too long and I doubt anyone in it is still having fun.

If even Mittani, the zombification master [propaganda master] is openly writing that hypno-tricks aren't working well on his alliance and friends anymore, what can you say about the other participants in the Great War? This might be provocative, but, IMHO, it's time to close the book on "Band of Brothers". Everyone would be better off and calmer as a result. The goons would live in the west, serious players would finally start paying attention to weak alliances who survive only because the big kids aren't paying attention, the NC would go back north and there'd be a break in 15k on 15k warfare. The overall tone of EVE would be better off as a result, too.

But this is all daydreaming. Going back to current events, right now on the eastern front of the Great War, your Atlas friends cleaned out and absorbed the remains of GS' old home. GS representatives aren't exactly risking their eternal soul when they use the forum war classic "We don't need this Detorid anyway", but there's no more airbag between RA and superfriendswarm. And current events in the west form a balance in this war: the north is helping goons, AAA and co. are helping BoB, and in the east RA + friends aren't even close to AAA + co.'s alliance strength. Besides, RA's already involved in one war, and if the superfriends invade Innsmother from the south, I'm afraid RA, not ED, will be the ones flying to Empire. Even Dodger's posts addressed to ED - "You're going to Empire no matter how many fronts we're fighting on" - sound more like desperation than a threat. It's sad to see the confirmation of the CAOD post: "russians most hated by other russians". After getting through the lies, dirt and infighting and setting a course for brighter times, it'd be sad if the legendary RA name would end like this.

BTW, why is BoB so set on Querious and Delve? It's obvious that it's their former home and the first reaction is, naturally, to try to get it back. But somehow they're still stuck on that months later. Why couldn't they try to take the territory of a UNL (when they had some), Kraftwerk or some other neutral or hostile alliance that isn't particularly strong, away from the current theater? They would've built a base and started a methodical counterattack. As it stands, this frontal assault they're doing isn't particularly smart, and it's tiring and pissing off both sides.

It's too bad I'm writing this for nothing. Local politicians are used to mask their feelings with killboard bravado, trolling and hypnotoads, and nobody wants to talk about anything important.

Which is followed by:

+ Show Spoiler +
Talking about serious issues is theoretically more interesting, but it's hard to do that around people who want to express themselves but aren't particularly experienced at life or in game. Thanks for the post - at least it made me think.

About my tiredness: I must say that the contents of the info-noise goons make have never changed throughout the course of the war. It began much earlier, when goons originally arose. It's not my opinion - old timers say that CAOD used to be different and EVE itself had less retardation and psychosis. You can write this off as typical bleating, but I also remember EVE being very different. It had anger, but didn't have hatred.

About BoB and Delve: the problem is that, had the regions been lost in a war or a regular siege, morale would have been lost long before the last sov claim. But the regions were lost by trickery, made even worse because nobody could even imagine the scale of the loss. To lose the regions for BoB was to lose face. But this alliance plays in a classical war style, what goons ridicule as "space bushido." Losing face for them is worse than death.

Does everyone else in EVE want BoB to die? Some do. The northerners are dead tired of the war. BoB are their enemies from the dawn of time, and the threat of BoB's existence is a sword of Damocles over them that newbie pilots absorb with the milk of their first Rifter. They don't really have another goal in the game: the whole north is spoken for and the borders are drawn. Sometimes they can play around with resettling pets in different places, but where's the game? Where's the drama, politics, intrigue and skirmishes? They can't start playing it because "BoB would choke them off one by one". It's a deep fear of their eternal enemy.

I don't think EVE will ever be the same. You can't put the genie back in the bottle. A war can put 2000 people into one system, and "day to day" fights last months; making EVE into that type of game could only happen if everyone is convinced they're not just shooting pixels. I don't think I like this version of EVE, but that's what the game now is. Because several thousand people like to hate the enemy and spend months shooting POS, blobbing, and live on their hatred of the enemy, it must be accounted for, especially because they don't even remember a different game anymore.

Well, for now everything we say is speculation ...

But either way it's gonna be interesting to see how things develop in the next few weeks. But the Russian did make a good point, BoB is not gonna forget this for a long time to come, sooner or later they will have their day

Of course BoB hasn't died. BoB is the best corporation in Goonswarm, and Goonswarm is doing pretty well right now.

KenZoku tore down towers from all around Querious to spam H74, and ended up losing all of them. I don't see how, without any reliable source of alliance level income, they would even manage to gather enough for push that would be threatening to a Sov3 and Sov4 region. It would probably end up just being more of an annoyance to Goon logistics and dreads rather than a significant threat.

So basically, you have absolutely no faith in anything we've posted? Not just Mittani's updates, but all other signs pointing to Kenzoku's demise as well?

I don't want to start an argument in our informative updates topic, but you have to realize you're contradicting every piece of info we have at the moment. Even some of Kenny's most stubborn supporters are giving up. (So what does that make you...)

If you have a good reason to think they can make a comeback, then post it. Don't just say "I believe".

What can we say about yesterday? We destroyed every hostile tower which came out of reinforced. Imperian sieged off an on all day, racking up a pile of timers to help us clear out the potential RKZ bridge network (through 4-2 and 4-G). We sieged -A-'s last Khanid R64 for ****s and giggles, and even that didn't provoke a response.

The most 'action' seems to have been from our *******ging gangs in 49 and Z3V. BoB and EXE have both been living out of KFIE, which is a dead-end NPC Delve station. By camping the KFIE gate in Z3V, we racked up a host of easy kills. Back in the day, RKZ always had a titan to bridge out of KFIE, but those days seem to be long gone. Z3V has a station and a GS tower at 6-3, so enjoy.

In failure cascade news, BSC left EXE - though EXE picked up Skunk-works refugees Aeon of Strife the other day so they're peachy keen. Skunk-works themselves have demonstrated a textbook cascade graph; it's a thing of beauty.

Not too much to kill today, but tomorrow from downtime to early euro will be a big deal if you can manage to be online, with 13 towers to kill between server-up and 16:00ish.

lol, notice the names of the goon pilots in this fleet battle:

For those who don't know (I didn't either until I heard the TS conversation) every one of these is the same guy. 1 dude and a ton of alts. How he manages to control it all seems amazing to me.

A few posts from SHC:

AAA poster:

I'm not sure where to post this as it probably makes more sense in the grander AAA et al vs NC et al conflict.

Nevertheless it happened in Catch, in SV5, a system next to HED-GP, that makes up one of the most important pipes in the region and a gateway to other Southern regions.

Apparently, we (AAA) double-doomsdayed a considerable NC fleet. On Russian CAOD, one RZR poster suggests that the fleet's purpose was to catch one of our titans, but "it so happened that the titans caught us (NC)"
The RZR poster further explains that "they were anticipating a (titan) response in HED-GP, but since it did not materialize, they decided to move on, just to get doomsdayed in the next system."

Here's a link: http://www.a-kills.com/related.php?id=255105

Rumor has it that it was somehow related to the then-ongoing battle in 1v-.

Anyone know more?

Quesa (Atlas poster):

Our sources inside NC entities forwarded that the main purpose of this fleet was to aid XIX and RA in 1V-.

MM poster:

It was a triple doomsday, not double. WTB dominix.

We'll take this one and file it under the heading of "gross conceptual error by FC" with a subheading of "DBRB specifically told them not to try that, but they did it anyway without informing the gang of that fact".

Always nice to find that stuff out later when you're in a pod.

Battle report on a dead X.I.X titan killed by Atlas in 1V-LI2 (an X.I.X station system in Scaling Pass).

+ Show Spoiler +
Battle report:

1V-LI2, a 5 moon station system in Scalding Pass owned by XIX, had all 5 POS coming out of reinforced today starting at 2100 EVT.

We knew from intel over the last couple days and RA/XIX alliance mails that they were gonna defend it bitterly. A lot of their Detorid evacuation assets ended up here, and the 5 Titans in local proved that they wanted to make a stand for it.

We arranged with Krautbreak/Minor Threat/CoW (from now on in post named as "CC" - Curse Coalition) to go in 6 hours before to down cyno jammer. We knew they were waiting for us at some point today, and they saw our CTA mails in Atlas I'm sure. Therefore we formed up a bit earlier, and wanted to take them a bit by surprise. We formed up unscouted and bridged right next door to 1v- while CC did the excact same from another direction (1v- has 5 entry gates). We jumped in system jsut as GAV7ER logged on and alligned our gate, but he was too slow and didn't warp gate to DD us. We warped on jammer, about 120 RR BS strong with our two gangs combined, and we went to work. 2nd titan logs on. And 3rd. We see the picture start forming. First DD goes off and we eat it, second Titan edges shields and gets ready to DD, but we warp off and regroup and rep each other and second Titan does not catch many on his DD either. Somewhere in between this a DD has also gone off at station killing some unaware, unbubbled light support. oooh flashy.

So 3 DD's off, most of our BS fleets still intact and only 1 Titan at jammer POS edging the shield, and we can tank his DD fine now with all BS repped up again. We go to work on jammer again and down it quickly, the 4th Titan never sets off his DD. Once jammer went down, we all burned full speed back to pick up our capitals. XIX were gonna sacrifice all they could to rep that jammer up we knew, so time was short on us. We all get back in record time to pick up caps, and we see one XIX carrier triaged on the jammer. We jump on him, and kill him.

Now sitting here on the reinforced POS that still has like 4 hours left on reinforced, we start incapping all mods. We have a few scraps with XIX+RA support, but nothing major. Meanwhile, CC also cynos in like 100 capitals, making our numbers around 200 capitals in system now.

We have an RA spy that we use for reading CTA mails and other useful intel, but in 1v- XIX suddenly decides to merge gangs with the RA in system. Our token spy is in system with his Celestis of doom, and he gets into the main fleet that has free move on. We see GAV7ER still in local, but nowhere to be found on any POS. We find out he is cloaked in a deep safe 90 AU away from everything in 1v-. We set it up so that our spy takes a squad commander position and invites our HIC's to gang, and they warp to GAV7ER at 0 while dropping the RA fleet and getting reinvited to our main fleet. They land, tackle and aggro the Titan, and our entire fleet warp on him and kill him. I drop fleet second i land on him and get a warpin for the CC guys, but most of them if not all came too late since he popped in < 2 minutes.

Fight is still ongoing in system to wrest system control for later when POS start come out, so much can still happen and nothing is set in stone yet.

Oh, and we lost an AFK drunk Revelation that went emo on our TS so we had to kick him. And 1 more that discoed and got probed.

Fight so far from Atlas KB (not everything is synced yet): http://atlas-alliance.com/killboard/?a=kill_related&kll_id=80143

Umm. I don't want to re-read all 40 pages. At this point, who is Atlas? I know Goonswarm kicked out Kenzoku, but I lost it form there. What is the big picture so far?

That made my entire day .... for everyone else go to this link http://killboard.net/fleetbattle/3566/

As for who Atlas are:

They were former residents of the drone regions. Got kicked out while ago by Goons/RA like 1.4yrs back or so? Currently Atlas resides in Omist after taking it from TCF who put up no fight to defend that space....

They seem to be faring quite well attracting some pretty decent pilots and have a nice cap fleet...

As for the big picture, Kenzoku/-A- momentum got stopped in it's tracks and atm we're cleaning up all their towers in Querious with little/no resistance...

Mittens 6/9 Update:

And now, a word from one of our RKZ agents!
Show nested quote +
Good evening ladies & gentlemen,

Looks like the station camp & services shooting sealed the deal for many members of the Band of Kenneths. Multiple people have asked during the day if anyone had room in their carrier and could kindly help them GET THEIR **** OUT OF THAT SYSTEM. The last "official" op was scheduled for last Saturday. Only roaming gangs are "advertised" right now.

Enjoy!

So the 49 douchebaggery is getting us results; keep it up! Don't forget to camp the KFIE gate in Z3V as well.

Yesterday's events: We killed towers (The last one in A-B, and those two in RF listed on yesterday's jpg). We (Imperian, heh) stole towers that RKK was unanchoring! We sieged towers!

About the only 'big news' in strategic terms is the capture of the Irmalin R64 from -A- for PL. That was their last R64 in Khanid. Shadoo managed to lose a poorly-fit dread, and there was apparently a lot of mockery about this. We also whacked an -A- carrier.

Big targets today are 4-2 and 4-G. These are RKZ systems which could become bridge links for them to link up 1-SMEB, 3BK and 49. That wouldn't do. Towers are dying there as I write this; please join in.

There's been some chatter about a possible move by SYSK/Romanians into Period Basis in hopes of giving RKZ some breathing room. Be on your guard around 18:00 EVE, we may have to scamper down there and stomp on an invasion.

Nothing but good news at this point I guess.

Now that's a pos jpg.

Yesterday began with us running around 4-2, 4-G and RF- on Querious Cleanup Duty. Everything on yesterday's pos.jpg died. It was a 'normal' day, in the post-H74 sense; we destroyed RKZ towers without any opposition and the enemy appeared disorganized. The constant camping of KFIE and 49 is taking a rapid toll on faltering GKC morale.

After the 18:00 RF tower, we invaded 3BK. 3BK had two empty moons and five online GS towers. The jammer was downed and everything in the system was reinforced, untimed, for 1d12H. This means that every single tower the enemy has comes out between 7:30 eve and 11:00 tomorrow morning. It is critical that everyone who can manage to be available at this ghastly time do so.

Hostile resistance appeared to spike in the form of a 49- RKZ fleet. SOT fought them, then we dropped our support group on RKZ and killed a couple of carriers.

After downtime this morning, we removed the last hostile towers in 4-G, then DBRB whacked Nync's Nidhoggur while trying to gank a ROL freighter in 49.

Vio Geraci, the Official Director of the GIA (Technically speaking Mittens has no "official" duties within the directorate, he just kind of does everything with a focus on the GIA, which is pretty much his baby) did a lecture for EVE University. Here it is. I haven't listened to it yet, but I've been warned that it's two hours long. If you're some kind of masochist, have a listen, I still listen to the lectures Darius and Mittens did about 2 months ago on occasion. It's fun to listen to Darius, just because he just goes on random tangents of profanity and Mittens is just a great storyteller.

edit: Just finished listening to it. It was interesting. Vio's approach was a little different, he's generally more straightforward on goon culture, and the things he (and I) finds funny might horrify some of you, but it's a good look on what kind of people we are. How I type and behave here is generally pretty different for how I interact on SomethingAwful or on EVE. You've probably read my posts on CAOD and wouldn't recognize them.

Also by SP, in regard to Mitten's super secret surprise assault on 3BK, which only yesterday was Sov3 for Kenzoku:
I guess you could say 3BK went alright.

Mittens' daily update should be up soon, but they've been less interesting the past few days. The Kenzoku failure cascade seems to have come and gone already, as evidenced by the goons being able to warp in to a Sov3 system, kill everything, and steal sov within 24 hours.

The CAOD and CoH threads are slowing down, and everyone seems to be taking a breather to rest up for the next big fight/flamewar. The goons have their sights set elsewhere, so they're just waiting for Querious to finally settle down.
