Counter-Strike 2D is a freeware 2D clone of the most famous multiplayer game ever: Counter-Strike by Valve Software. Its difference to the original game: It is completely transferred to 2 dimensions. Play in a top-down perspective and experience a new gameplay.

What is going to happen in future?
Unreal Software is currently working on a new version of cs2d (working title: "CS2D Max") which will be better, faster and more secure. Furthermore it will run on win, linux and mac os!

This is really big beta, lots of servers, but barely any players, it'd be nice to see some TeamLiquidians play this new beta game whoot

there are two different types of the beta
(Beta 1.0.4)
and (Beta Onward)
Beta 1.0.4 is the first beta version that came out, and people play it the most
Beta Onward is basically the most recent version of Counter-Strike 2D, which means it has the most recent patches, fixes, additions, but there are fewer people, hopefully TL can change that
When you download the files, dont put them in the same file, separate them, if you do put them all at the same file, im pretty sure it doesnt do anything, but you play the Beta Onward version..

played it in high school couple years back (3-4 i think)
it's pretty addicting and very fun to play with friends.... you have to have good maps of course (like any other game with maps o_o) don't have to worry about a sucky computer either.

even if it isnt funner than soldat, atleast its something "new" and refreshing
*edit- dont give me any of that "starcraft is old new sucks you noob" fanatism
*edit2 gave it a shot against bots, no idea if it has headshots and dunno if im missing something but i really want to zoom farther away from my character :/
*edit3 didnt play against real players, but still dont think its good because it lacks headshots, long range fights(snipers useless?)and shooting through walls.. But there is hope

I tried it but I didn't like it all that much... Its not that bad and all but it just can't compare to the adrenaline rush that CS used to be. If you want a game like this I'd suggest Subspace/Continuum (more info here: http://www.getcontinuum.com/ ) Its already 10 year old but still has about 1k people playing it daily (divided over various servers (known as zones) and its basicly one of the pioneering games for a lot of online games =)

I used to play this. It's very fun for quick plays during breaks --with enough people of course. The only thing stopped me from playing further that time was that they took a hiatus in updating the game to combat against the silly hacking (srsly, why is there need to hack this simple game?)

Counter-Strike 2D 1.0.8 is Out and running
Unreal Software will not host 1.0.4 anymore, so it is highly recommend you download the new version
Sounds real fun, and they fixed a lot of stuff too
