And the results for Match of the Year 2009 are in. Read this: the winning match had 371 votes at the end of the poll, while the 2nd place match had 369 votes: a TWO VOTE DIFFERENCE!
wow, that vote difference is like George W. Bush and Al Gore in Florida.
I saw that Sakura mixup demo on Valle live on stream, and it was unbelievable. I voted for the MVC2 match, but either way both videos are amazing. It's good that the Viper/Sagat match wasn't eligible, it would have won easily for the wrong reasons. haha
but nah, it wasn't really possible, alabama and georgia don't have an arcade with the game so everyone else always has advantage on a new game :/ they still got in the top 8 though w/ anakin (plays roger) and clint. atl did win t5:dr @ final round, hopefully i will see a repeat this year..
speaking of sf4, clint got 4th, he's told me stuff about sagat and random things about ST the few times we played he's sober when we played casuals at their place in atlanta theres some apartment in the ghetto where they all train no furniture just tvs a fridge and some consoles and he taught me some stuff... he's the guy my friend from here in alabama beat in the tournament w/ zangief. i figured he would win if nobody from nyc showed up for SF4, but sanford and the other 2 showed up so lol
but nah whatever they will never be as good as long as they keep the attitude of "we're from this one part of georgia, we gotta beat this other part of georgia" and always talking shit within each other and no sense of scale in their goals, not coming together as a community and training together and sharing strats, and as long as that keeps happening people from out of state (alabama, nc, etc) will keep coming in and taking their money.
then again i shouldn't complain my friend buys me waffle house after the tournament with that money.. just part of me feels like i'm a part of their community since their tournaments are the only ones we go to because alabama doesn't have tournaments... i'm envious of how many people they have to play and how much matchup experience they can have access to, when i have to figure out matchups off youtube shit and writing down everything i see in the video in a notebook and looking at shit on training mode all day.... goddamn. sometimes i manage to force myself to play online but even after 3 games i've had enough of that shit, hate it so much
Oogosho yo. In other news the other half of team KOF (SBO SF4 winners), Kyabetsu, is probably playing dat SF4 a lot if he's qualified for the national tournament with Shiro and Ojisanboi.
Eh, my computer runs it fine, but it isn't the same as arcades, that and I have no issues with combos at the moment. I just want to play against people.
Though I do know about a lot of issues regarding diagonal inputs and input lag.

joy2key seems to be working better than xpadder regarding the diagonals... xpadder doesn't work right or something like its introducing random input lag. like it went from OH GOD FUCK THIS SUCKS to "hell yes enjoying myself alot" w/ j2k. will def buy this shit when it gets a proper release... input lag i think is your computer or monitor? joy2key still has some wonkyness at times but 99% of the time it's been working right. so far feel like its way fucking better than that previous game by the same people
It isn't really that much better than the original poverty GG rip-off game they made. Still stupid, simple, imba, bad. At least they realized that, if they're going to rip off GG mechanics, they might as well rip them off more faithfully this time around.

yeah still def has its flaws, i think i am just treating it more kindly because i like one of the new character's design a lot so i actually have someone to pick as opposed to just picking a top tier because i didn't really like ANYBODY though i think he might be low tier which makes me sad
i dont mind imba though mvc2 is probably my favorite game nowadays even though its the game i'm worst at...
it fixes more problems than SSF4 will though LOL it probably engine-wise makes a lot more sense under the hood than SF4 did, Sf4 made some fucking WEIRD design choices like tying hitboxes to the bones in the 3D model, so whenever artists would change animations hitboxes would change too, or if artists wanted to go back and tweak the way an attack looks tough shit maybe also theres a good chance that some hitboxes were kind of stuck that way because they already had that animation done that and blockstun = hitstun - 3. internally in sf4's data files hitstun and blockstun are the same number which leads me to believe that they originally planned for that to be the case and then they made a large sweeping system change late in development
