this is more funny than any comedy show i've seen in 2025. Borderlands4 recently got delayed with Gearbox forced to offer refunds.

There were two, count 'em, TWO documentaries about it. I watched them both. And the guy even tried to make Fyre Festival 2! Then, I'd pay 1 dev student and 1 artist student to make a tiny pixel art Unity game. I'd do all the writing and worldbuilding stuff, which will be mostly a parody of SG. Imagine Tim's face after he sees positive reviews and some people playing the game.

You can't call it stormgate, but I give you copyright free Tempest Portal. Nothing about the story is original enough for them to get upset about when you rip it off and parody. I look forward to playing your game.

And AI can generate close to usable ( just need minor tweak) game assets right? :D We've been doing it.

Storgmate: Apocalypse leaking Amara and her pet gremlin Warz discover that their world is on the brink of destruction. The culprit is an enormous hole in the ground that drains the budget, making everything around it look cheap and AI-generated, and it expands slowly. Help heroes find the reason for such a terrible cataclysm and find additional funding in the process, before they lose themselves and become AI-generated like the rest of the world.

The characters start to grasp the reason for the cataclysm. If someone built a place like that, it would explain the lack of funds that could create a hole. At the end, Warz gets caught by the hole and becomes a default AI-generated demon. But he's chill with it, because he is tired of being an ugly mortherfucker. https://imgur.com/a/TWpoAOc He tries to convince Amara that the hole is changing their world for the better because of how cheap and ugly it was in the first place, and it's up to her to make a decision.

Remember back in 2013 when Artillery Games promised to make an HTML 5 based game engine that would be their platform for RTS games. This amazing piece of software would also end the need for video game consoles! AAA games could be played on a SmartTV running on Artillery Games amazing game engine kernel! Sorta reminds me of netcode rollback promises. Any how, Artillery Games shut down after a 3+ years having released zero games. I remember their leader/ceo guy running around in a "Who Is John Galt?" t-shirt. ![]() At least, Storm Giant or Frost Gate or whatever they call themselves... released a game. StormFrost? GiantGate? i can't remember. On September 24 2025 06:00 Jeremy Reimer wrote: But between Savage Entertainment, Command and Conquer: Generals 2 and now Stormgate, he's had way more misses than hits. This is an extremely valuable skill for any software maker. Stuff will always go wrong. what i've learned about making software over the years... is that when your software fucks up you need to send in ugly people to make the excuses and blame the environment. A 6'4" guy who looks like an TV anchor man will not be believed. Send in George Costanza and the chance they'll believe him is much higher. When George Costanza whines about the environment causing the problem its more believable. No one will listen to any excuses coming out of the mouth of David Beckham. My #1 product support person is a super nice guy... short, a bit fat, and ugly. When he makes excuses people believe him. He's gotten me out of more jams than I can remember.

Mortician and Co. started bitching about how their community's expectations were too high mid 2024 -- that they were being inappropriately compared to StarCraft II and its standard. They rallied behind "Let them cook!" while people became increasingly concerned and vocal about the level of quality that was being output (related to art, gameplay, celestial's design choices, etc). Many in the community, including myself, have speculated that the reddit account voidlegacy is connected to Tim Morten to engage with the community. The account previously complained about how the community were "armchair quarterbacks" which was echoed during his IndiaGDC talk where one of the graphics talks about the community like so: "Of course I'm qualified to criticize everything!" https://imgur.com/a/tim-morten-fgs-india-gdc-talk-november-2024-yRsxglc (not to mention the slew of other connections) https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormgate/comments/1npdvbo/comment/nfzklvx/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button relevant voidlegacy links about arm chairing: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormgate/comments/1gch4ie/comment/lu1jmg1/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormgate/comments/1fbjp8f/comment/lm2woao/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button It seems like they truly believed they had their winning lottery ticket and everyone else was a "detractor". if anything, fundraising was the only thing Frost Giant Studios can confidently claim they did well. Hype creation is clearly important in order to accrue funding and eyeballs on your product, but to then whine about how people hold you to that expectation, complain about the market, and how your scope needed to be massive to uphold your promises, is pathetic. It all starts and ends with quality and fun. 18 concurrent speaks for itself.

Never thought about that but it's absolutely right on the money. Also I am very confused because I kinda assumed without really thinking about it that Jimmy Raynor - Canada and Jeremy Reimer - Canada are the same person...
