Templar Assassin is overpowered much in the way that Geomancer is overpowered. Also known as not. Geomancer and Templar Assassin are both overpowered in the sense that they can be amazing when they're used well, but using them well requires a lot of skill. Templar Assassin requires much skill to be used properly - proper judging of distance for meld, making sure your traps go off properly, etc. Both heroes are easily countered as well - they lack HP both being Agi heroes with a higher Int gain than Str gain and are glass cannons.
It's for this reason that I don't think much about Templar Assassin will be changed in .44b or whatever. Geomancer was even buffed from when he started - Templar Assassin may be nerfed a tiny bit but she'll be a great, nice balanced hero later on.
Protoss for the win! Death to those damned Venomancers!
Don't forget though, she does that six attack invincibility which, granted, won't do much in a gank, but is extremely helpful otherwise.

Mana Burn hurts TA alot, at least when I played against her, just couldn't abuse the invis as much.
I am not sure if mana still gets burned during her invincibility period.

Ok, here's a new revelation I've seen.
Refraction acts every time Lanaya would take more than 5 damage. This makes its invincibility nigh useless against creep waves, or in large battles (which Lanaya should not be getting into, for that matter). This can be mitigated by getting a Vanguard, which I've found is an AMAZING item on this hero, which really surprised me when I first tried it out. It's now on my list of items to get first, before my Lothar's Edge but after my Boots. Besides that, Meld's armour reduction now works properly on levels 2 3 and 4. I'm still in a debate with myself as to whether Skadi or Stygian is a better item for this hero - she farms well, but I'm not sure if the extra cost for Skadi is worth it when Stygian does so much for her already.

Having just played a REALLY good templar assassin, I have concluded that it is an incredibly strong hero in the right hands and insanely annoying -_-

I know I could test this myself but atm I'm not on a computer that can play it, does Radiance use up the templar assassins 6 invincibility hits?
Yea Strafe but my team still won because we had better teamwork, I was Drow and went something like 38-6, and the templar assassin on the other team was like 35-9 or something.
Too bad our Meepo was 1-19 and had boots of speed + headdress of rejuvenation at 67 minutes into the game. I thought it was quite funny so I screenshotted it. Luckily the opponents had a crappy player too so it was more like a 4v4 with two bumbling idiots on the sidelines

where do you guys play dota? just public games, or inhouse with friends, or some private dota clan?!
im tired of pubs who leave/feed, I wan't something better

I play versus a few friends on Hamachi, but they're really casual gamers, so it's hard to get a good game going.

Don't get Vanguard on TA, a Bottle would do more for you early game. A quick Q for the TA (have yet to play her) players, does Axe's ult still go through her invincibility phase, same with Brain Sap? I am assuming the move's mechanic is the same way as LoA's Burrowed Time, in which case I already answered my own question but just to make sure.

if you have a ladder icon, ur fine and just start playing ( join the games in the brackets posted by the bots every few minutes or type /w tdabot !getgames )
if not, get safelisted at www.dota-allstars.com
look for tda section and apply or something
25 wins is easier imo

joining tda is prohibitively hard if your as lazy as me or don't know how to play normal wc3
so i just joined a clan for a short term solution. but tl.net should definitely start a dota channel some day!

Dota is nothing at all like Warcraft 3 melee. You can be a great Dota player and have absolutely no idea how to play Melee whatsoever. I, for example, want to play less public games but I am just way too bad at and don't want to take the time to play melee, so I mostly just Hamachi with friends these days since those are always fun games

im in the same boat as you but i dont have any friends who play dota. :/ all of them play WoW
