For me, TSM definitely still has more to do to truly separate themselves from the rest of the elite teams below fnatic (EnvyUs, Navi, VP, and a motivated NiP). TSM have been hyped hard because they were able to beat fnatic a few times (super rare for any single team to do with any consistency) some months ago, which led to a handful of great tournament finishes (albeit not exactly the "biggest" tournaments). They still have yet to even reach the final of a major though, and historically have been known to choke (in some people's eyes) in the QF and semifinal rounds of the bigger tournaments (especially during the Fetish era). They're an elite team for sure, but to me they still have something to prove (getting more consistent top results for a longer period of time) to rival a team like fnatic, which has been pretty damn dominant for such a long period of time. EnvyUs are interesting because they were considered the closest team to fnatic for a while in 2014 but started to fall way off in 2015 and seemed a bit unmotivated after winning their first major. After changing two players recently they also have a bit to prove with this new lineup, but there's no denying the insane potential they have with all the experience and skill they have, plus the KennyS factor. Given the newness of the lineup this may not be their tournament yet, but we'll see. Along with TSM, Navi is one of those elite teams that is on the upswing in 2015 but also has yet to reach a major final... with fnatic on the other side of the bracket and given their recent uptake in form you would think this is the prime time for these two to deliver on all the hype they've been getting, on the big stage. | ||
