Ahn Jung Hwan's golden goal for South Korea in 2002 against Italy. It was 5am and everybody in my house was going absolutely berserk - especially 'cause only 15 minutes earlier we we all getting ready to go to bed in defeat.

I remember Park Ji Sung's goal against Portugal in 2002. Teammate passes too long, Park Ji-Sung stops it with his chest, bounces it up with his right foot (I believe) and scores with his left foot. All without the ball touching the ground. He's my favourite player ^^;

The most tense moment in norwegian football, possibly the biggest one in Norwegian sports.(penalty of course:o) Entire nation infront of the TV screen :
Draw would send us home packing, a win would send us to the quarterfinals :
Brasil vs Norway world cup 98* Group A match-

*overtime.. 4.5 million people biting their fingernails back home

Penalty gave Rekdal(the p. taker) a kinda legend status for us :o

Nice freekick from R.Carlos

Pretty much the whole game was great. Two completely equal teams battling it out.
I couldn't find any videos of the EC 1996 or WC 1990 ;(

I was almost a baby. December, 1983. Spain plays his last qualify match against Malta, an amateur team but they needed to score 11 goals to beat Netherlands at goalaverage and qualify to France'84 Eurocup. At the half time, Spain was winning only 3-1. They needed 10 more goals to make it, and they did it!

Spain qualified to France'84 and placed 2nd. Lost 2-0 in the grandfinal against Platini's France with a bit bad luck, but that's another story...

Btw, Malta's keeper makes now an ad in Spain Tv, they call him "the best friend ever"
I've been around since it all started, and it feels good

(Sorry, I can't find a shorter version. I mean the second to last penalty)

I was a kid and i thought that when I even think of what's gonna happen, we were gonna lose. So I left the TV and went to my room to distract myself. I switched on the radio and the first thing I here was: "...und Köpke hält!" ("and Köpke saves it!" )
Köpke was my hero! ^^

EDIT: You are a much greater fan than me, so I will give you your unforgettable moment.. feel free to edit comments

Ill never forget baggio's miss. It was the first world cup I was really in to, and we were rooting for italy so much. He had had such a fantasic tournament, but it ended soooo poorly...

----------------------------------

great, since mani already posted my 1st unforgettable moment, I'll post another one that is very unforgettable to me too:

são paulo 3:2 milan, the 3rd goal of sao paulo, by Müller, he didn't even know where the ball was haha.

quality is a big shit tho.

[edit] hey mani thx, but my post was more like "now I get to show two unforgettable moments: mani's and this one from sao paulo", and not "shit he stole my moment"

First one is Kostadinov's goal against France in 1993 qualifying match for World Cup USA'94. We need to win to qualify the french only need a draw. The score is 1:1 with less than 10 seconds remaining.

Second is from the World Cup itself Stoichkov scores a fantastic freekick against the then world champions Germany in the quarters to make the score 1:1 after Lothar Matthäus scored a penalty.

Third one is from the same game. Letchkov - the bald magician. We beat Germany 2:1 to face Italy in the semis only to be denied a place in the final by a pathetic FRENCH (see first video) referee who closed his eyes for not one, but two clear penalty kicks for handball in the penalty area.

god, world cup 94 was the best one by far for me.

it was just complete:

- MANY great players playing amazingly (unlike 2006) -> Romario, Baggio, Hagi, Stoichkov, Matthaus

- many great teams playing awesomely well - Sweden, Bulgaria, Holland, Romania

- excitmant, drama, everything

- great matches - brazil/holland, argentina/romania, romania/sweden

argh

1. Liverpool vs Milan

If you don't know the game I refer to then you don't know very much about football.

possibly funniest commentator ever

This ballcontrol he after that badass long-long crosspass while semijumping when taking the ball down was insane, and also in his next touch of the ball managed to trick the argentinian guy on his face and then just kick the ball into the net gave both me and my dad an orgasm when we saw it live :>
also basically Bergkamp is the best player ever, just alittle bit infront of zidane.

From late moments i would consider grosso's goal against germany on world cup semi final as one of the most memorable momments, not only because i was for Italy and it was a great and hard match, but also because of the great pass by pirlo.

I would also consider when riquelme missed the penalty kick for villareal in last minute of 2nd game of champions league semi-final.

one moment i didnt forget was romario (playing for PSV) scoring a great goal against milan in CL after a corner

searched youtube and there it is (goal nr. 5, the compilation itself is not that great and definitely not romarios top 20 goals)

other memorable moments: hässler scoring the 2:1 against wales for germany to qualify for WC 90, matthäus goal against yugoslavia WC 90, klinsmanns performance against holland wc 90, semifinal germany:argentina WC06, kloses goal and lehman saving and so on, so many great moments involving the national team......

Possibly Sweden-Germany 0-2 this last summer. Me and a few friends were in Munich for the game and eventually found a big pub, absolutely crowded with people but we managed to get good seats. 4th minute, 0-1 Podolski, 12th minute, 0-2 Podolski, game over. Everybody except us, swept in swedish flags, went nuts. Then Larsson missed a penalty when we were just dying to stand up and roar for the germans with a comeback. We felt very small and insignificant. Long trip back home.

sorry to bring this old topic up again, but I just watched this video again for the 1st time in months and it gave such an adrenaline rush and it filled me up with so much emotion tears came to my face again. The guy narrating the goals has a lot to do with it, he puts his heart out and the comments make me feel so i dont know how to describe, just awesome. So if you understand spanish is better :D

Also Ronaldinhos reactions in the 2nd goal is just priceless, I can feel his rush and emotion.

Then the 3rd goal, Ivan Helguera frustration is so big, he wanted to kill messi probably, just so much emotion ejcn dkce sick

Rijkaard also has no passion?

Point was against irrational rivalry and even hooliganism between certain clubs. It's in almost every major football country.

The people in that video are more exited by the fact Barca is scoring against Madrid rather than they are about the players scoring beautiful goals.

what? am I missing something here? did we watch a different video?

I dont know what you understood from the commentators. They are getting into how messi is such a savior, I dont know if you watched that game, Madrid was always up by one goal, and messi equalized the game by himself.

Of course there is going to be rivalry, is Real Madrid vs Barcelona. Super Clasico. There was no Hooliganism at all, all the fans got along and were safe, no fight, no riots, no injuries, no deaths. It was a safe enjoyment.

I can sure tell your not a football fan from heart, maybe you dont take the game seriously as most of us do. Seeing Messi score a Hat-Trick in his 1st clasico at Barcelona is IMPRESSIVE. Do you know what it means to score in the most important game of the season?. It has such a good game, not only because of being a clasico, but because Real Madrid needed the points, Capello was on the line, and Barcelona were losing the championship. Messi saved Rijkaards Ass.

and no, Rijkaard does have passion, not enough to my standards tho, I enjoy coaches like capello that scream, celebrate, feel the game. I hate coaches that when the players score a desecive goal the just sit there motionless, like it didnt matter, but I guess they look more professional but whatever.

Goals are goals. Beautiful or not, what matters is that they are goal. an Ugly goal in a important match is way more important than a beautiful goal in a meaningless match.

This match was just fantastic. England score the first two goals and then Portugal comes back to win 3-2, with an absolute screamer from Figo. Then we went on to beat Germany 3-0 with our best players resting. Our golden generation at its best.

The awesome "GG Real" goal from Pavel Nedved (my favourite player of all time) that won him European player of the year, maybe the second best goal ive seen unfold before my eyes. As always fate deals for harsh blow for Nedved continues to receive a weak booking that suspends him from the final. Now that the Czechs have qualified for Euro 2008 as impossible as it is I pray for even the smallest chance he might make one final return...

watched it live, nearly dropped out of my chair. I was just going to say how stupid this guy is, getting to the baseline and trapped by two and he must have heard me.

rofl, that was the greatest dribble that resulted in a goal that I ever saw in my life...

Keep in mind that running at full speed is not dribbling, not where I play football.

it was fucking sick yes, but van persie scored one fucking awesome goal that deserves a higher spot in my opinion. it was in some of those pre-season matches... and he dribbled and scored alone, fucking sick.

robinho's was more "plastic", like free style, and he had less space. bah, it was just different, both were jawdropping

Talking about USA 94, for me the best wc ever. It was the first I followed fully, I was 10yo and I knew everything about it, every player, every result... Spain played vs Italy on the Quarter finals, they were dominating against Italian catenaccio, tied 1-1. On a deadly counter Roberto Baggio managed to score the 2-1 for Italy. Then, the drama. Minute 93, Caminero crosses the ball to the box, Luis Enrique takes the possition over Tassotti and when he is going to head the ball, Tassotti hits him with his elbow and breaks his nose. The whole spanish team pursues the referee showing the evidence, Luis Enrique is bleeding with his nose broken. The referee panics and whistles the end of the match. Spain is out.

Lately, FIFA punished Tassotti with 8 international matches ban, which ended with him retiring from the national team.

This fact has been removed from USA 94 and world cup history. You can\'t find it in youtube, nor wikipedia, etc. I\'ve only found one video showing spanish drama from a recent TvShow before 2006 WC:

I've been around since it all started, and it feels good
