I played this expansion when it came out after skipping Pandaria and most of ... I'm blanking right now.
Because I didn't have much time, I only made it to 97 by the time my one month ran out, so I'm debating coming back and closing the deal. Is there anything to do other than raiding once you reach level 100?
I've also always had a hard time finding a suitable guild after my mates had quit. I used to run with a pretty competent group that 'only' used to raid twice a week, but whenever I tried to come back, the guilds I found were either completely brain dead or required three plus raid days.
And man, maybe I was just unlucky with the people I met during the last two expansions, but shit has the community gone downhill. The servers seem populated almost exclusive with middle-aged unemployed men, or their annoying, drama-lingering wives. Again, this might be my bad luck or it might be exclusive to the German realms, but seemed to me this game was much more enjoyable when its community consisted almost exclusively of male, early twenties nerds.

No.
Speaking purely objectively about strictly the amount of content available right now, this is probably the most raid oriented expansion thus far.
Your options after hitting 90 are thus: Raid, Organized PvP, Achievement Hunt (which Is the umbrella I am throwing pet battling, brawler's guild and treasure hunting under.)
There really isn't much else to do. The 5 man content becomes irrelevant very quickly outside of challenge modes.
I only log on to raid. My garrison is maxxed out already, and once I gathered up the requisite amount of epic followers needed to consistently get 100% success chance on Highmaul raids I lost any and all interest in logging in daily for my Garrison chores, which wouldn't bother me except that all of that above only took about a month of the most relaxed WoW playing I've done in a very long time.
Pandaria by comparison had so much in it to do every day (a lot of this felt required and tedious but still) that I had to log in at least 4 hours a day just to keep up.
There aren't any cool outdoor areas to really take advantage of, the rep grinds have next to no rewards attached to them to make them worth doing and there is no relevant dungeon content outside of raids to really do.

Thanks. Since most people I liked and enjoyed to play with left years ago, I won't fork over another 13 € just to see Nagrand then. What a shame, I really liked what I've seen so far. It's not even that I don't have time to play, my life is just too mercurial to commit to arranged raids even once a week. I could easily put eight hours a week into that game, but it would need to be justified.

I do my raids at random times during the week and then do some shit with the guild when loot locked.

Had a ton of issues with Blast Furnace heroic last raid night. Our damage feels really weak, and we still have BF/IM/Blackhand before Mythic progression and I'm starting to burn out I think, the raid leader has turned into an even more epic douche and randomly lashes out at people.
Shadow is such a dull spec as well, I feel really weak for 90% of the time in raid outside of long enrage times and those are extremely few and far between.
As for pushing 97 to 100 Six, like everyone else has said this is the most raid-oriented end-game in an expansion ever. Everything revolves around pushing you into the raid dungeons whether it's pugs, LFR, or your guild group that can bring however many people they need to for a night. The reputation grinds and dailies and such lose importance after you realize there are just vanity items for rewards.

You can also grind rep with Laughing Skull for a good follower, you can grind rep with your bodyguards, you can grind fishing to get a follower, you can do some dungeon achievements to get some followers, you can even grab 4 items out in the world for a follower, you get the point There is also this weekly chain called Garrison Campaign, though if you are behind you can get more than one part per week (not sure how that works exactly, as I had couple of them pop up in one day, and sometimes it's one per week). Build a barn to level 3 and go catch elite wolves for fur and savage blood. Plenty of fun!

2/10m These fights are pretty well tuned but I think that the fact that darmac gains like double hp after faultline dies is pretty bullshit. Wtf is that? 4pc mage set is ownage too.

Yeah, raiding is the name of the game at 100. Challenge modes were a thing before the raids opened, but now it's only gold (hardest time) or gtfo. Spires or Arak was the best zone as far as quest and story goes, especially if you've played terokkar forest in BC. Nagrand has been pretty meh, perhaps would like it better if I played Mists...

I really enjoyed (*ahem*) Iron Maidens as shadow, have the combat rogue just afk blade flurry everything to fuck for insane dps while I have to track dots on 2 bosses + dump mb / ms procs in the other for comparably shit dps.

Getting the gear first may cost them a WF on some end wing boss but the only one that matters is Blackhand anyway.

Paragon did the same in Highmaul and they've done few HC clears already, should start soon enough in mythic. Also it's to be expected there'll be more than just one hard fight this time around, trinket and tier pieces are a big upgrade, just smarter to clear HCs first before going to mythic.

True Gors, but "if it was" too which i agree is highly unlikely, those first 5 hours getting to blast furnace or Kromog would be key.

True guess it is preference. My assumption is that Method before today is out will clear Heroic a few times.

I killed like 6 or 7 Heroic last ID and this Week I can't even get motivated to join a Guild to farm Heroic. Its so fucking boring, I thought Highmaul was the problem, why I had no fun, but its WoW in general...

Heroic blackhand is a joke now. We 3 shot it with some subs. rip the nerf
