Tbh your best bet with pugging is trying to find something that looks like a guild/alt run that needs to fill a couple of spots. Anything else is a recipe for disaster imo Btw just wondering, is there any class/spec that has one secondary that is so shit, that item level upgrades may end up not being actual upgrades? Kind of like ww/mw monks and mastery. I see lots of people either complaining that ilvl upgrades aren't actual gear upgrades, but honestly that just doesn't make any sense to me. Attack power/spell power >>> pretty much anything since, well, ever. | ||

Most of my upgrades lately have been Crit heavy on my Ret Paladin with Crit being our weakest secondary stat besides of course the god awful Versatility. I gave up a lot of Mastery for the ilvl gain and was worried that it would actually be a DPS loss. It wasn't. The gain wasn't as high as it would've been if the gear had been properly itemized for sure but it was still an upgrade. Primary stats are just that strong. | ||

How I got into pubs until I ended up killing imperator in a pub. Now i'm pretty far into content only doing pubs  That said I only join groups that do armoury checks now - best way to ensure people are competent. Also if you need someone to pub with hit me up sometime - Drazerk#2136 I'm horde and generally have nothing better to do than pug highmaul | ||

As combat I need to stack haste/multistrike but haste is easily the worst stat for sub rogues because they have it built into snd already. Assassination also doesn't need that much haste (albeit it isn't terrible, but crit/multi are much more desirable). Most highmaul gear isn't even an upgrade for sub rogues so they basically only get marginal dps increase (they start at the best of the 3 rogue specs for single target, at end of highmaul sub = combat > assa). In BRF gear sub finally gets some gear but still isn't even the best spec by then because combat scales better with gear (albeit barely, its like a 1-1.5k dps difference in 695 gear sims only since I haven't actually got 695 gear =D). Although for myself none of this matters because I am only 650 ilvl and people don't invite rogues to pugs =). Like the picture posted above so many people want 7/7 before they even consider you joining, even though I can top dps in normal because I have decent gear and can play my class at least somewhat decently. Still using shitty 630 weapons though, haven't seen a single drop =/. | ||

I'm very annoyed I can't bring the argument of " Hunter has a BL " for pugs, because the main spec is lonewolf and the BL is on a pet. Although, I have pretty damn good ilvl ( 657, thank god for my conquest gear ) and competent hunter are needed on most fights, so getting accepted into groups isn't usually the issue, it's just finding the right ones... | ||

Generally every group wants 2 hunters for Butcher / Bracken so you can get in fresh groups pretty easy i've found. You just have to make sure you actually whisper the god damn raid leader. 9/10 times if you message the raid leader with curve you get in straight away but no one ever seems to right click the damn application. | ||
