No need to spoiler that I guess, you didn't really say anything specific about the games ![]() Anyway, it's important to understand how economy in WC3 works. Like people mentioned there's the upkeep system, which gives you diminishing returns on your gold (workers take 10g from the mine but only bring 7g/4g back to your base). That's why players want to spend as much time as possible at <51 supply (no upkeep). Usually this means spending surplus gold on tech and items, but there are situations where you either have to float (got all the items you need or there are none in stock and you don't have any tech to do) or want to float (you are about to break into higher upkeep so want a large production round instantly since there is no point in breaking upkeep just to get 1 extra unit). Those games might've seem weird to you because they deviate from standard macro flow quite a bit. When you have MGs fighting RifleCaster with Inner Fire going on and Alchemist with Healing Spray on both sides it's actually quite rare to see something die. If you don't need to replace units and you're stuck in those prolonged fights there really isn't much to spend your gold on. Edit: Also note that 1k gold in WC3 isn't as much as 1k minerals in SC. Units in WC3 are quite a bit more expensive than in SC. 1k gold will usually get you 4-5 units (think of it as every race being Protoss level expensive from BW when it comes to units).

Funny thing is that all the years I've been using practically the same control groups as Grubby without even realizing it.

Are we going to skip the fact that the humans reached the finals playing NE?

For 1.30.1 I'll settle for the fact that NE didn't bring another trophy home (and it's the first major win for HU since 2016). Need to see how the tournament scene will shape up after 1.30.3 I'm an UD player and HU fanboy. Got kind of tired of most tournaments being taken by OR and NE for the past 2 years. Edit: And it was a bit scary to see Moon go on a 17 win streak in series that were at least BO3 and only dropping 3 maps this entire time...

I am ok with what you say, but I cannot agree with the statement that human won that tourney, human won the final, but not the tourney, because I doubt that humans would have won their vs undead matches playing human. p,s. Also I never understood why they allow player to switch races during a tournament. Someone here answered me that why not if a person can play more races, but the issue is not with the person who can play more races, but with his opponents who have no idea what he is going to play until the last moment and what happens when both of them wanna switch and does not want a specific match ups.

It really speaks to the detriment of the patch though if most matchups for some races are heavily not in their favor. I really hope they'll get everything in order before reforged though. I was considering switching my main race (to NE probably) but wouldn't want to do it if there are serious imbalances.

Humans won a decent amount of tournaments, tbh.

They did patch it (up to 1.30.4 now I think) but this tournament was played on private Chinese servers or something (don't know the specifics) which are 3 patches behind (which severely nerfed KotG and Alch). Maybe they had a rule for the tournament that the entire tournament will be played on the same patch, to avoid people having to figure out new meta halfway through. I don't know, but they played on version 1.30.1 for sure.

I'm a level 45 random player and NE is the most frustrating race to play for me. Despite having a reasonable win-rate, even matches I win aren't all that fun. Finite moonjuice probably the most frustrating mechanic in the game. I want to instaquit every time my opponent has a disease cloud abom... Also, I absolutely adore all the content that back2warcraft are putting out. I just wish someone would tell the main caster that the second b in bomb is silent. Due to the German Auslautverhärtung, he pronounces it as "bomp", and it's very grating.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to play TFT campaign right off the bat in Reforged. Right now it seems that if you install WC3 and register it with reforged pre-order (lost my original cds of which I had 2 copies) you can only play the TFT campaign. I assume that reforged will be RoC campaign primarily. In any case, I think that the most you can miss out on is one of the campaigns for some time and potential ladder play and practice before it hits.
