Be careful around windows, guys. Btw: Any1 else have that problem that some items are unreachable when they are on top of a Cabinet? tried looting with Vicinity option while standing up, tried first person and aiming at the item, nothing helped.

Even though a lots of things are still missing, I find the game very enjoyable, the graphics and the general atmosphere make for a very good immersion in my opinion. When you walk in cherno's ruin, you really have that apocalyptic "I'm alone in the world" feeling. Once the whole loot table is set in place and the major bugs are fixed, and you have something to aim for aside from surviving for the sake of it, the game might well be totally awesome. Me and my friend are already having a blast anyway.

Now time for a terrible story which will bring back the memories of dayz mod days. Coolbam, Retro and me are hanging around NE airfield, they both are fooling around giving each other magazines for M4 I am looking around wielding my pristine fireman's axe and suddenly shots are fired. I go down immediately as I eat first burst. Dead, Retro goes down second, Coolbam survives. Ok darn, we were stupid but maybe Coolbam can avenge us. He finds the guy a minute later, shoots, puff, combat logger FUCK. Coolbam proceeds to salvage our items as we are too far away to retrieve them and then the same guy logs in next to him and shoots him in the face. FUUUUUUUUUU worse piece of shit ever, combat logger, server hopper... This needs to be priority now as a next feature. DayZ Origins did it nicely, your character stood up and dance with hands weaving as you were logging out. No matter what, d/c, crash, logout, alt+f4, always 30sec of dancing. Yes sometimes it results in a stupid death ( my internet crashed during firefight, although I was behind cover, dancing exposed me and I got shot dead) but I would prefer that to stupid situations like this I feel like it would help a bit with server hopping for loot as well, especially coupled with a multiplicative timeout after logging in Rocket was talking about. Today I connected to a low pop server hoping it was right after restart. I saw people logging in constantly so I though it was fine, but I got suspicious as whole Electro was untouched, but for some strange reason supermarket and both fire stations were empty. The I hit P and lo and behold 4 players. Then I've started making screenshots of people logging in and disappearing after 1-2 minutes. I know, not all of them are server hoppers, especially those who logged out almost instantly probably scared by night time, but I'm gonna bet some important part of my body that some of them were hopping for loot. + Show Spoiler [album made out of boredom] + Tip of the day: When starting a play session filter for servers with 0-6 players and as soon as you connect see if more players are in the lobby (it's visible for few seconds before map loads). It usually means server is fresh after restart so loot is everywhere and people are running around. In-game server browser doesn't update often, it may say that server is 40/40 but in real time some players left same goes for empty servers, they are usually filling up fast, especially if there were full before they went down.

Running with a light source is fun for a while, but after some time it begins to piss me off. Visibility is unnaturally low/dark, and flashlight is very wonky in closed spaces which is totally understandable as this is a computer game not real life. What it feels like is the game tries to be as realistic as possible with disadvantages of certain situations, but cannot deliver properly on basic real life things like eye sight, lighting etc. This is completely fine, computer games are never gonna get that right, but that is the reason some things are done unrealistically. I hope they will realize that and for now until it's fixed they will shorten the night or remove it completely. Now time for a terrible story which will bring back the memories of dayz mod days. It's kind of funny so many people server hop for loot and combat log to avoid losing gear. The game is supposed to be hard and that is the reason to play it. Doing that just ruins it and makes it a fps and a bad one at that. Seems like people just buy and play dayz because other people do it. When playing dayz the player should not care about items at all and if they do they are playing the wrong game.

I am talking about joining a fresh server because it HAS players, but you don't see it because of browser lag. 0 players working server means it was restarted 5-10min ago. When I play on the server I stick with it, after a restart you can see your server because it's the only one in the history with 0 players. My apologies I will edit that part out. Still hate how so many people combat log and server hop for items. They should just go play cod cs bf4 etc.

Will I be okay playing this game even though I dont own a mic? Be prepared for some tough moments, this game has a very step learning curve. It is created as a vessel with lots of resources and abilities what you do with them is up to you. Mic is not required. Guide for the game would be too long, I will just try to give you some bullet points: -dont't get easily discouraged, you will die a lot, sometimes to a very stupid shit - useful links current map, satelite view. map of the mod, to give you idea what to look for, 4 types of loot, locations changed a lot with 90% of buildings enterable usefull map status effects, white information reddit, skip comunity/circle jerk stuff, sometimes there is useful stuff there - 9/10 times you spawn on the southern coast. Food/water is a priority, although you can get water from pumps now so it's not that bad. Pond/lake water will get you sick, use purification tables. -don't get attached to your items. Nothing is unique and special, don't feel bad if you lose, get robbed or die -treat all players as a potential threat, it's up to you if you want to be friendly or hostile but beware of backstabbers -do whatever the fuck you want -I would advise you to stay on the coast until you feel comfortable enough with the game but previous point is valid as well :D -axes are best mele weapons, crowbars, sticks, bats are terrible. Aim for the head if possible. -don't over do it with double tap W (the fastest sprint) -it's called a simulator of running for a reason, be prepared to run a lot
