I think everyone's overreacting way to much for this. I'm fairly confident MS will out due expectations since the bar is so low : P
Not that it matters, I save my scraps of change well enough to be able to afford both so I'll get by finding out which is better; imo I still think the reason I like Xbox more is the controller, a Playstation controller is just so non-ergonomic forcing both thumbs in a vertical line rather then your hands naturally falling over the controller (which I find in the Xbox controller).
Wat? PS3 vs X360 was a tossup. PS3 argued it had better hardware, which it technically does... it is just really hard to use. Blu-ray vs HD-DVD was undecided. X360 still had that option, but bluray won which tremendously helped Sony. If HD-DVD won the PS3 was sunk. PSN was brand new and untested, xboxlive was already established The price of the PS3 was "reasonable" (purely because of all of the technology) and still way more than the 360. PS3 was $499/$599. X360 was $299/$399. People also highly criticized the Sony conference about all kinds of things. "RIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE RACERRR" and "giant enemy crab" ring a bell? Yeah, you forgot to mention PS3 also almost one year late after Xbox 360. Sony was the king after PS2, they were too confident and blew it. Microsoft is not the king at this gen(Nintendo is), Sony are now selling more PS3 than MS sell Xbox360. If even the King can fail that hard, just wonder how hard will MS fail next-gen.
Very true. Sony learnt their lesson after their release of PS3 which didn't go oh so well.
The titles that interest me was Titanfall,Destiny,KH3 and FFXV and MGSV.

Which is even more funny because this time xbone wont release until "late" 2014 in the gigantic asian market and havent even set a date for Japan.

MS has never had particularly good market penetration in Asia, has it? Its wheelhouse has always been North America. Also, and correct me if I am wrong, but my recollection is that the Japanese console market has been shrinking considerably over the past few years (as in moreso than elsewhere).

It's kind of funny to hear old people talk for that reason... because strangely they make penis jokes all the time and they don't even notice. And I apparently am at risk of making rape references by using perfectly clean language, telling someone to capitulate, because at some point in a movie or something, someone said "let it happen it'll all be over soon" in relation to rape.
And rape is so god damn powerful that it ruined that sentence for everybody. Because you let the concept of rape take it from you....
And I'm bad at communicating because YOU hear dick jokes when old people talk about big sausages. What I see is an upside down world where idiots make the rules. Some people think Charlie Chaplin was a nazi because he had the same mustache as Adolf Hitler. 1. There's nothing innocent about rape. Penises can be innocent so your comparison is like...really really bad. People react badly to the perception of a rape joke but not to the perception of a penis joke because one is violent and the other is not. I never said that rape is innocent and the fact that you made that comment, IMO, completely discredits everything you say. What I said is that phrases which suggest "rape" to you but aren't necessarily related to rape CAN be innocent. Example: I say "just let it happen, it'll all be over soon", without the slightest bit of intention of suggesting rape. Those words can spontaneously be said by someone who have never heard it being used in reference to rape. Do I need to explain to you why I wasn't said "rape is innocent". You're so disgustingly disingenuous when you suggest that I said "rape is innocent", what the hell is wrong with you. 2. "You let the concept of rape take that sentence from you!" No. I just live in a world where I don't feel entitled to spout off every thought with any phrasing I want. That sentence wasn't "taken" from me and it wasn't "taken" from you either. Both of us can still freely use it. What you're whining about is the power to be interpreted any way you want, which is a power none of us ever had. You're whining because you can't completely divorce meaning from words and just have people read your mind whenever you speak. I just think that's pathetic, sorry. "I'm not entitled to spout off every thought with any phrasing I want". Before I say something, I have to process it to make sure I couldn't be misinterpreted by Nancy and he sick mind. 3. If you're legitimately trying to tell me about sausages but you keep using phrasing appropriate for a dick joke...then yeah you are really bad at communicating. Is it so hard for you to understand that people can't read your mind? Not a problem of mine... but not long ago I told a friend "if you're having problems with your equipment..." and it was clearly a dick joke to him when it really didn't occur to me in that one occasion. Sometimes I say things and it occurs to me that it clearly could be viewed as an innuendo, but other times, people say things and they don't realize. Sometimes, they literally DON'T KNOW that there's some kind of obscure meaning that's attached to the phrasing. What I see is an idiot who is upset that the world expects him to actually think before he speaks and doesn't like it when he just mouths off without hesitation. Sure you're allowed to do that. But we're also allowed to call you an insensitive asshole and not invite you to our parties. Yeah I'm an idiot, good work. Also I don't party with people who think I'm an insensitive asshole, what kind of lame parties you must have... Probably monocle-wearing suits with top hats and you write everything down and read it three times and cross reference online to make sure you won't offend John's 4th cousin on his father's side. You're still completely hung up on the fact that words aren't blank slates that you get to define every time you speak. We're not going to convince each other here on a forum so let's just agree to disagree and get back to the topic at hand. The effing travesty that is this overpriced cable box peripheral. I responded, I'm not hung up on anything - and you made personal attack toward me. I do realize that sometimes specific wordings are closely tied to specific meanings, but in this case it's thin - I've said that phrase jokingly, I've heard it, and it never had nothing to do with rape to me. I realize that it has that little reputation going, but it's definitely not limited to it.
And yes I'm not too impressed with the Xbone

While Japan is not as important as a consumer market, it's still enormously important as a publisher market. If JP publishers show flat for xbone, and they would always focus on domestic costomers, MS would be in serious trouble.

I agree with most of what you said. The two consoles have slightly different intentions. Xbox wants to be your sole media hub in the living room (as evidenced by the massive connectivity as well as the HDMI input which the PS4 doesn't have). I actually kind of expect the sales to not be overly lopsided oneway or the other when all is said and done. There will be a lot of brand loyalty still at play here I would guess...

Im most excited for how close we are to console brand names not mattering and the "war" coming down to which console has which games. When developers start siding with either company and exclusive rights being bought up itll be fun to see new/unique games coming out to define either console.
Also i hope one day they will just merge both online worlds into one entity. Could possibly hurt sales for either or but it would be fun to play the same multiplatform games across the net against someone on the other platform.
