Well they cannot keep going the rate they are either. They tried changing there DRM stance by saying it's up to the publishers to decide, which is a honest half-assed way of dealing with it.
24-hour log-in can change if MS is willing. All of these main points can change if MS is willing to do so ASAP. After watching Sony's E3 presentation, how can they even say they will be ok at this point? They cannot.
I love my 360 and I am dumbfounded to see how the hell MS can make so many blunders already with the One so early on.
What does a world without microsoft look like? Just think about what they're released in the last year: windows 8, windows surface, and xbone. All can be considered flops (xbone not for certain yet, but after sony meeting...)
But, for anyone who knows anything, they knows that microsofts biggest money maker is their office suite. Which survived the ribbon gui switch of 2007. So the entire company isn't down and out yet.
How many more flops can a single company have? I think valve's steambox/linux might become more necessary much sooner than people are considering.

Well I have to give them the benefit of the doubt from a business stand point and hope they didn't paint themselves into a corner contractually or hardware/software wise in that respect. Fact is, Sony did gain a ton of ground today. The big issue to me wasn't the always online stuff or the used game stuff though, it was the games themselves. I don't have a clear picture of what exact exclusives XBox will have. Its not exactly clear on Sony's end either but they did a much better job imo on giving info on it. Graphics wise, I saw no difference.
Again, MS and even, to a lesser extent, Sony need to clarify things a bit better in the near future. I would like to see the specs and I would like to know exactly what exclusives line up they both have. MS needs to completely, once and for all, clear up the whole DRM issue as well, they have been way to furtive in explaining it which probably isn't a good sign.
But as I and some others have already said, neither one is going to die anytime soon. They have too much money and have enough going for them either way to survive and most likely thrive. All of this "Xbone is Xboxdone" stuff is ridiculous.
PS4 is going to Rape the xbox. They will destroy them in every possible way. The exclusives were simply not enough, not good enough and not soon enough. Only downside for the ps4 is that shitty controller. Once I find an xbox controller subsitute for the ps4 I am all over that.
That e3 conference was not enough. Stock hasn't moved yet though. We'll see tomorrow. Such a pity after doing so well with xbox360
Forgot the always on part which probably isn't a huge deal for most places but I live in a very rural area where a lot of people have sub 1 MB connections and the internet is spotty as all hell. For those people wanting to game the xbox is pretty much unavailable to them.

Which is the sad truth. PS4 is not the superior choice because it's so damn good but because Xbox One is so freaking horrible.
Summary for the lazy people, (like me)
Xbox inferior hardware spec, No backward compatibility, 25% more expensive.
PS4 Big hardware superiority, Backward compatibility, ability to play used game and lend game, 25% less expensive.
Is this factual? Not being sarcastic, I actually would like to see the specs and haven't seen anywhere that says that PS4 is better than Xbox One hardware wise.

The hardware specs are largely irrelevant. Both consoles are getting the same chips, and even then, cross-platform games will (necessarily) perform similar on the two consoles.

Yeah most likely but I see people repeating that the hardware is inferior on Xbox one yet I haven't seen any evidence of either one being better than the other.
My main concern is whether the $100 price difference is due solely to that motion sensor garbage or not.
