Imagine if Microsoft didn't announce all of these bullshit "features". Sony would look silly with their main point being "YOU CAN TRADE OUR GAMES" and "YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ALWAYS ON." After watching the xbox reveal I was hoping that Sony would capitalize on microsoft's incompetence, but they delivered harder than I could imagine.

Sony no doubt has the upper hand right now, no matter how it looks, if you want to play the war.

Another good point. This whole "x console lost and will now die" is just over excitement.

Only people going to buy that over PS4 are fanatical fans now. Sony will absolutely bash the XBox to a pulp if things stay as they are. I will buy them both as will plenty of others. This is a ridiculous over reaction. They will both continue to survive as per the norm. I would like to see exactly why the X Box is priced $100 more. I wonder if its solely due to the Kinect being included or not. It would be nice to see some specs. "Plenty of others"? How privileged are you? The vast, vast, vast majority of buyers will own one gaming console per generation, and the vast majority of buyers are also affected and/or care about things like "always online" and the used game fiasco. Im not that privileged. Im a single male in the military making less than a lot of people. But I get paid enough to where I can afford to spend a couple hundred bucks a few times a year. I play games all the time with co workers, its an easy way to hang out with new people in the military and most of us have both and plan on buying both. Ah, the bold part explains it. Even assuming that you aren't living on base/having food paid for you/etc. like many military personnel do, you still have a lot of disposable income because of the fact that you have no family, you have a lot of benefits due to the fact that you're military, you don't have as many things to spend it on as your average civilian, and you get additional allowances/pay on top of your base salary. I hate to say this but Microsoft has deep pockets full of money and insane fans and casuals who'll buy the console having never heard anything about it. The fanboys will stick around. However, the people that will just up and buy the XBone without any research or knowledge beforehand are probably families, and a $500 price tag will make them turn right around and look at that shiny PS4 for $100 less. Not only this, but the XB1 won't have the advantage that the 360 had; the PS4 will come out right around the same time, so the XB1 won't have a hegemony on word-of-mouth as the "go-to gaming system". People will know the PS4 like they knew the PS2. Even if MS has the pockets to keep the XBone afloat, the point is that they will still be hemorrhaging money to keep it afloat, and they will be forced to change their practices if they want to stay in the market.

If MS doesn't change their stance on DRM and the log-in 24 thing. They will NOT win vs the PS4. Their launch line-up already lags behind the PS4. Sony has more then on 1 occasion said they are supporting the gamers. Where the MS and the One focused first on entertainment first, before backtracking to the gamers they have already pissed off. Honestly, if MS doesn't release a statement and CHANGE their stance on some issues, they will not beat the PS4 in any region. PS3 still outsells the 360 in Japan. PS4 will beat the XBox One in Japan next gen. If the PS4 manages to out sell the One in the States, MS will start kicking themselves for saying what they said. It isn't too late for Microsoft to change what they said, it honestly isn't. But with what Sony did in their show case @ E3, the time is getting close to that point where they will never be able to catch up unless something drastically changes. PS4 is less expensive at launch, their launch titles are clearly better. Sony is paying attention to the core gamers that XBox One has pissed off. They aren't going around saying eventually it will change, Sony said straight up, no DRM and we support used games. I honestly think MS is just looking at demographics and basing their decisions on that. Which is wrong. Especially that dude that resigned saying "What's the big deal about always online?" After ALL that has happened this year with Always Online games, can they honestly say that with a straight face? Are you kidding me? Out of the 100% I'm on my consoles. (360 and PS3), I spent well over 95% on the 360 and I'm WAY more excited about the PS4 then the One. (After the fact that my PS3 has been downgraded into my Blu-Ray player for my room.) Edit: Grammar :p

Actually, the PS3 has outsold the 360 everywhere except the U.S. and has (possibly, since stats are sketchy at this point) outsold it overall at this point. I honestly don't think that the XBox will go the way of the Sega, but I think the XB1 is going to flop hard, and everyone one of you should be rooting for this as well. Yes, we say, "Competition is good!", and that's exactly what is happening. If the XB1 flops, then it will be a defeat for always offline and DRM (think about what individual developers will see?), a victory for the used game industry, and a victory for the consumer by keeping console prices lower for a little bit longer and slowing their inflation.s
