yeah what's up with perkins forreal? I really don't see much value in him as a player.

So slow and bulky, offers nothing really on the offensive end. The argument I "used" to hear from a lot of people was that he plays really good D. I still don't see anything spectacular on that end either.

It seemed like perkins has devolved. Or maybe he just doesn't fit in as well in OKC. I remember when the Celtics traded him, I thought it was a mistake to get rid of him but keep Glen Davis, because his defense seemed so good at Boston. But my god are his hands awful.

Also, George Karl won coach of the year. They talked a bit about him on the last bill simmons podcast, saying he seems to be great at developing a system over the course of a season, but doesn't seem able to make per-game adjustments that become necessary in a bo7 series.

Lol, Karl ended up winning CotY, pretty ironic. He was looking good during the season, but he was bad in the playoffs. Thib deserved it way more taking his group of paraplegics into the second round.

Probably, but then you have to consider that his minutes allocation might have led to some of the injuries, plus he didn't change up much this year, his system is the same but continues to be effective. Karl did some very good things this year. I think his playoff run did hurt him a bit but then again I would argue Gallinari is probably the most important player in his rotation, plus Lawson/Faried being injured didn't help either. I would be concerned however with the lack of improvement among several members of his team, considering that a lot of them are young so development is important. Javale continues to be retarded on D, for example.

Still, CoTY is a regular season award so I wouldn't say that him being selected is wrong. I'd also go with Woodson/Popp/Thibs.
Saw Spo got 2nd. Wouldn't have been my choice but not a bad one either.
