what the fuck, lol, the first thing you want to do when an enemy is unconscious is disarm them, this is like the second or third time they do something else before disarming her then get them on their belly and and get on their back so they can't turn around (and this also severely restricts their movement), and in this case you also put a weapon on their neck/throat
also I was like what the fuck when bregor wanted to chop her leg off lol :D when tudagub fell on her I imagined a big wrestler jumping on someone with arms/legs streteched out and I almost died when vincent said we need no hand here XDDDD I like the enimity between abigail and tudagub but abigails actions when her life is on the line seem a little off, I don't think anyone would risk it like that, it does it make more interesting though

I really like tabletop RPGs when you can have a real influence on the world you're playing. And where it's totally possible to play without doing a single fight - or something close to that. If you can have a really good background with humor, it's a cool bonus I really appreciate too. The game system giving reasons for the players to fight each other for political purpose and/or power while having to work together is fun to handle too.
Paranoia is one of the best RPGs I've played, especially since it's really good at doing one-shots if you don't want to spend a lot of times in a campaign. Not a good example on how to build a long term political carrier tho. Especially when everyone is dying three+ times per day.
7th Sea and Vampire have a lot of political tensions every time and feuds between the families/kingdoms. It's sad the universes are often a little bit too serious.
In Nomine Satanis/Magna Veritas is my all-time favorite, giving a lot of space about roleplay (detective work, relations with the "partners", intrigue to gain some influence in the greater scheme, talk your way out of any combat situation), simple rules, sense of humor, and giving you the choice of being a follower or a leader, meaning you have to be one step ahead of every one in your group while not being caught by the administrative power.
It's possible to do that in D&D, I know a friend who did it, but it's not easy considering the rules and the background of the game aren't made for it. That's why I said players are those who have the possibility of making a game great. :p
Edit : I could have added some more but if you want a list and a review, I would prefer to go on PM to not derail the thread.
This weeks stream is moved to Monday at 8PM est. Final VOD for week 2 coming up later today! Thanks for your support guys!
Neal proposed the idea of doing a marathon stream for charity and the more $ donated, the more we play (or something). Might be fun to bring in guests in for 2-3 hours at a time. We'll see!

That seems like a great idea! Maybe instead of playing more, every donation could have some sort of benefit: Low amounts of money could be like a shoutout on stream, mid amounts could set an event that will happen in game (not insta-dying of course ), and high amounts could be like character name/come on as a guest NPC/enemy/DM!

That'd be really awesome. I know personally I'd love to watch that, but doing it for charity as well is even more awesome

If you did this you should probably have a break every hour or so like 5 minutes or something. i missed out on a lot of the sunday broadcasts because it was so long in between breaks that i left to cook and came back and was lost and had to play catch up in the week.
We haven't discussed any details about a marathon stream yet, but I think it'd be great to have a much larger cast of characters that hop in and hop out. Not everybody could devote a whole day to playing - I mean people have to practice and have other commitments - so it'd be great if we could start with the normal 4, and then when we get to a stopping point, if somebody has to leave, we bring in some one else (Day9, Demuslim, Sheth, HotBid, Sasquatch, TB, whoever) and they play until they have to leave, and we keep rotating players. Or maybe even bring in people who donated for a bit.
There are a lot of options. We'll see. This probably won't happen for a while (not until after MLG Dallas for sure), but it'd be great to get some feedback.
What sort of structure would you like to see? What sort of guests would you like to see? Etc.
A rotating door of players in one party would be pretty cool. Or like a two party system, where two parties are in the same campaign but doing different things and the "camera" pans between them at set times. like this party is travelling with a caravan north and then we cut to a party fighting some bandits off in the south. ect. the 2 party system would probably be the easiest on the players as they'd not miss any of their own parties actions and know when they can get on and get off. it'd be easier to schedule.. but we'd never get all the mixes of personalities.
Though donating into the party would make a lot of fans happy. I'd love to do that but you'd have to set out all sorts of rules ahead of time as a DM, classes races ect ect. Like i love to play bards and monks.which are fairly opposing classes roleplay wise but not common ones especially in the dragonlance-ish setting you seem to be in. they are also fairly annoying classes rules wise.
OH a couple questions about the current campaign you are running.
Does Bregor have a racial/favored enemy as a ranger? what goodies does a ranger get over a fighter in your rules?
Given that Tudagub worships the god of luck, are occasional re-rolls and other various luck based blessings something you do as a DM?
How do Sneak attacks work for the thief with your rules? does she even have them as she isn't a rogue exactly?
How far do you expect your campaign to go? just the first couple levels and further if the group is interested in more? or do you have this epic(in english not D&Dese) sprawling campaign in your head?
Thanks Kneel. (Neal) ^^
EDIT: sorry when people homebrew rulesets i always get super interested in what they add and change.
1) Bregor's racial enemy is giants. He gets +4 to hit against them, and a penalty of 4 to all reaction rolls (including charisma) because it's so hard to hide his hatred for them.
2) I've been thinking about replacing his Turn Undead encounter power with a re-roll encounter power at level 2. Turn undead is undoubtedly useful, in fact crazy OP, in a campaign that features undead, but utterly useless in a campaign that doesn't.
3) Back stab (called sneak attack in later editions) is an auto crit at levels 1-4. At levels 5-8 it's an auto double crit. 9-12 triple, and 13+ quadruple. Additionally, if you would have normally crit (i.e. clear by 8+ or 4+ on a natural 18+), bump the crits up one level. So, if she rolled a natural 18 (adjusted 22) on a sneak, while the target had AC 16, that would be a double crit at levels 1-4.
There are limitations around this. 1) You must be behind your target, and they must be unaware of you being there. 2) they must be vaguely humanoid so you can know where to hit for extra damage. 3) you must be able to reach their back. Backstabbing a giant when you're at their ankle does nothing.
4) I do have a long plan for this. Not a big enough plan to get them to level 20, but enough to get them pretty far, with some pretty sweet stuff. If somehow we manage to keep playing long enough to get through all my material, I'll have figured out what to do after that by then. I'll DM you with non public details.
I'm glad you choose a variant of DnD 2, not a more recent one. It brings maximum nostalgia. So many good memories...
Also I hope this party encounter a paladin at some point. With the mixed alignements and the way they play it (especially JP), the drama potential would be pretty high. :p

Even like a monk would have serious issues with the party. not much they are doing is honorable and disciplined, but then again you know no one is lawful in any way.
In 2nd edition: there are no monks. A monk would just be a single classed fighter that uses bare hands rather than weapons. There are rules for it, but generally speaking it's better to use a weapon. The cool thing about barehanded fighting is you can never lose/drop your weapon (fists and feet), so you're always armed.
