I got pokemon X, and for some dumb ass reason Gamefreak only put Heracranite in Y.
<_< there's only 1 in a game, unless somebody wants to reset their game anytime soon, it's unlikely. Still, X gets pinsir's mega-stone, and his considered the better one by most.
I'm aware. I dunno, just spent last three days breeding me a Heracross.

just give it like a choice band or life orb or something. prolly still does better than his mega evo
is there any way to get staryu's hidden ability in this game? don't think it shows up in friend safari and iunno if it has a horde

Natural Cure is one of the games best abilities. Why would you want Analytic?
edit: Staryu and Starmie are also very fast so you'll barly get to take advanatge of +30% power

More damage on the switch in, I think either set works fine tho probably. I was planning to run it as the boltbeam sweeper over naturalcure+recover/leftovers.

Why do you say that?
His MegaEvo is probably the best sub-breaker ever.
All his stats but speed increased by 20 on his Mega, and lets be honest, Heracross never outspeeds anything asnyway. He has same typing, but gets big huge stabs with skill-link.
80 / 185 / 115 / 40 / 105 / 75... those are huge numbers. Huuuge. he has good defensive typing, good offensive typing... And can take full advantage of Skill-link. After a bulkup he also becomes a disgusting physical wall. I dunno, I'm not saying he is amazing, merely that I think he is better than given credit for.

And starmies speed is in the top 5% of pokemon

Just does that give enough to make him worth running over another mega though, unless he's the only one in your group that can in which case yeah it could be good.

The idea is to switch starmie into something it threatens and force a switch so that your move will hit the swapped in pokemon harder (Since switching pokemon takes 1st priority). It's pretty situational though.

It's pretty situational though. Starmie does force alot of switches. To frail to take hits though so likly only able to take advantage of that after one of your mons is KOed. Or Starmie is the only spinner you could have. Ghosts are attracted by spinners and starmie hits hard enough that +30% can 1hko likly all of them.

I dunno, I think so. He checks pretty well any potential OU physical attacker. All of them. Resists Ground, Fighting, Bug, Dark, Grass, and it's neutral to rock. With that improved DEF, there are so many mons it can check and tank just on virtue of its typing; only OU Physical attacker it doesn't straight up wall without +1 is Infernape, who 0HKO him with Flare Blitz assuming he has Choice band.
That being said, if MegaCross gets +1, suddenly that turns into FlareBlitz into a 2HKO and MegaCross can 0HKO Infernape with either Rock Blast, Close Combat, Fury Attack, Earthquake... thats without the +1 from Bulk Up taken into account.
Any potential OU wall is also pretty much just Bug food too.
I guess I havn't calced the potential for like Corbat or Talonflame, but those SR weaknesses. (EDIT: Yeah, Crobat 0HKO MegaCross pretty handily. Dat 4x Flying weakness. Talon is a 2HKO though. That being said, they can't switch into MegaCross, only if he uses earthquake, but no real reason to run EQ anymore with Skill-link in picture.)

if you're planning to play competitively starmie generally runs LO analytic to get the 2HKO on jellicent switchins with thunderbolt or psyshock. it also nets the 2hko on other common switchins like blissey, rotom-w, and celebi

Yeah that's definitely worded better xD. I'll probably just get a perfect natural cure starmie now and breed analytic on it when Bank comes out.
edit: jk staryus can't breed together, fffffffff
Also if I want to go by the unique item clause for in-game battling and my life orb and leftover slots are tied up elsewhere would it be better to run Expert Belt or Choice Specs? thanks

Does anyone have a 4IV Spiritomb they would be willing trade away for something? Maybe a Pineco/Forretress with 3IV or more too.

Depends on your type coverage and your pokemon.
I personally think Expert Belt underrated because it so unpopular; a choice item boost by about same damage, then you can get free KO because someone thinks you locked in, but kind of cheesy and only works because no one uses expert belt.
eg: Lucario uses CC, KO's dudes TTar; they see no LO drawback, assume has choice on and then switch in their DDance Dragonite and get 0HKO'd by Lucario's Ice Punch.
That being said, Choice items much more reliable.

ebelt is better, starmie gets SE coverage on a large portion of pokemon anyway you pretty much have to run surf/pump, tbolt, ice beam though specs is really gimmicky on starmie; starmie doesn't get voltswitch or u-turn and it doesn't really have the raw power to abuse specs

You guys are so hardcore. I look for good natures and then max my training points with them then call it a day.

Imagine hatching eggs without flame body....

ironically the worst part for me is getting them to level 50. the elite four in this game is brutal with all the cutscenes and long loading scenes
