Does anyone need any reinforcements? Like IntoTheWow? I have pallys now that can help defend anyone who's getting raided. I don't care if you have 2 lvl 10 crannies or w/e, I'd like to see someone who thinks they're raiding a defenseless village run into 30 pallies. It costs 2 crop an hour though for each horse. I can also provide spears if you're getting raided by cavalry.

Is it absolutely necessary that I make my first expansion a 9 or 15 crop village? I found a few but they are kinda far from me and I might have a hard time defending it. Is it such an advantage later on in the game to have that extra crop that I should be willing to build my first expo more than 20 squares away? Even my horses will take more than an hour to reach it, and the merchants will take a while as well. I'm not quite sure if it's worth it, but then again, I don't really have any clue about how the game is like later on when you have huge armies. Anihc, you have any suggestions?

If you're pretty far from other tl members, then I dunno. If you're not that far from other people, then I would say go ahead and take one. Also if you expo farther away you can expand your raiding range. I could be wrong though, I've only had 1 more week of experience than other people. I have no clue what mid-late game is like either.

It doesn't seem to go up at all as I train troops.

I have around 10 clubmen atm and I'm raiding everyone near me, things are going quite well now (59 pop, 54-36-28-3 production) so I'm thinking of adding some 4-5 spearfighters for defense. Is that enough to damage a small raiding army? I'm assuming that by upgrading the barracks level I can train them.

I honestly don't think it'd be worth it. Are you being raided very often? And by how strong of players? If you're getting raided I would just keep your resources spent and keep your troops out of the village so they don't get KO'd. The raiders will see that they're not getting much from you and probably choose a different target. Spearfighters are really awful for raiding. And your production levels are really low. Raiding is fun and all but it does dry up, and eventually you will need a strong backbone of self-sufficient resource production. Mine is up to 60-60-60-17 at about 80 population and I still don't plan on easing up on it for a long time. That's all theoretical, btw. I think raiding will dry up and no longer be terribly productive, and those that invested heavily in their own production will end up ahead in the end, but maybe I'm wrong. This game is so amazing. There's so much math and economics. You could actually benefit in this game from taking a few Economics courses at college... there's no other game like this. I'm really, really impressed by it.
