Would you mind linking me some good ones, please? ![]() They can change gameplay. Here is a list of MEIOU and Taxes (bests EU3 mods for many) changes: Details: 970 New Provinces 450 New Nations Overhauled religious system Specially composed music Completely reworked trade map Improved map graphics New national landmarks And as time goes on you can expect even more. These two mods were among the best in EU3 so you can give it a try (I haven't yet). http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?707351-MEIOU-and-Taxes

It is like they understand that the biggest strength of the PC is its modding community. Mods for EU4, and most other Paradox games, can change anything in the game. From the text font to gameplay. MEIOU and Death and Taxes for EU3, which in EU4 would be MEIOU and Taxes was and is one of the best and most played mods out there. Haven't tried any mods in EU4 since I play Ironman for achievements mostly. Trying to restore the Roman Empire was great fun

Seriously support them, its such a wonderfull mod. Its running pretty slow on low end computers at the moment and there are a handfull of bugs out there. However it has only been out for about 1-2months so its pretty sick.

I can't play with anything else now that I have it. my biggest complaint is how sloppy the lines for different provinces are. you can click in places and it'll get you to a different province then what you want. I enjoy the changes to provinces though and the look of the game as a whole.

It's about 1520 and I had the Burgundy event fire extremely early + I managed to completely destroy Castille, Aragon, Portugal, and Austria's armies early on in a big war so I could just roll over everybody for a few decades. I have no colonies; this is what France looks like right now ![]() With Baden and the purple in Flanders (hainaut) as my vassals, leading PU w/ Bohemia. I was wondering if you all find it worthwhile to just try to become the biggest blue blob that Europe has ever seen, or if you find the global colony/trade game more rewarding. Obviously I'd like to finish grabbing the area around Alsace and Baden and probably pick up Brittany and Genoa as well, but I don't know if it is usually fun to try to grab all of Germany or what. As for ideas, I have already maxed Quality and I'm really close to maxing Diplomatic (this one's a good idea for France). It is taking me a while to max economic ideas because most of the buildings that I am constructing require ten or more admin. power, which really adds up when you're France. I'm also thinking about allying up a bunch of the HRE electors and going to war with Austria to dismantle the HRE. They already have a lot of territory, have passed three reforms, and lead a PU with Poland, and I kind of want Flanders or Alsace. Good decision, or no? Oh I'm also papal controller and will be for many more years (5/7 cardinals are French rofl) so I can get up to some shenanigans with crusades too, I suppose. I'm not sure if this will still work in EU4 (still giving it time to get rid of all bugs) but in EU3 I once did a "protect the Indians" game where the explicit goal was to prevent any (christian) nation from colonizing the Americas. Worked out too ( I think I was Castille) even though later in the game some of my vassals started colonizing (they still couldn't declare war on the Indians obviously, so I declared victory anyway seeing as the Indians still were unharmed).

You just need to vassalize or annex Portugal and fuck up France, England always seems to get colonists later than France, Portugal and Castile for some reason.

- The bigger the country, the lower the warscore cost for each province. For example, against a small country, you might typically need 16-40% warscore for each province. For one of my wars against Muscovy it was 4-9%, thus I was able to force them to return 8 cores with only ~25% warscore (they weren't opposing warleader so battles didn't count on warscore). In the case of attacking big alliances / coalitions, this warscore cost reduction doesn't happen (it doesn't consider the total size of the coalition against you, its just factored for each country individually). This is fine for big alliance wars - in general, you can just separate peace out the individual combatants (that in effect allows you to get several hundred % warscore worth of concessions in a single war). However in coalition wars you can't separate peace the coalition members which means you can often only grab a handful of provinces for each war. - Provinces with the distant overseas modifier have greatly reduced warscore costs - I think its -75% warscore. There's some fun things you can pull against the Mamluks and Ottomans specifically with this, as they have cross-continental empires. So if you can sever the land connection between the capital and the "wrong continent" provinces you can make a lot of provinces overseas. - Picking proper CBs - overseas expansion (the CB you get for filling out expansion ideas) gives 50% warscore cost reduction I think.

You just need to vassalize or annex Portugal and fuck up France, England always seems to get colonists later than France, Portugal and Castile for some reason. When I declared the goal of "no (christian) nation is allowed on american soil" that included myself as well. So yeah, it's not as easy as just colonizing everything yourself. Obviously you'll always have to fuck up the early colonizers first and hard, and that basically limits you to playing either Castille, England or maybe France. Still you'll probably have your hands full with the second wave of colonizing nations (denmark, netherlands, the italian powers, etc.).

My main flavour focus would be PLC and surrounding areas. (I guess I have to ask Luke to change the credits ![]() Map was ported from eu3, so there will be some issues with positions of units/cities/ports/combat etc. It is very time consuming to fix them all at the same time so we mostly do that as it gets reported. After playing a while with Castille, I got the Peasants War event right as I was in the mist of colonizing all over the place. Now I can barely hold on to Spain (and that's because Portugal sent troops to help!), meanwhile my empire is getting completely dismantled! What the heck am I supposed to do besides curling up into a ball and cry? I'm not even first in score, I'm fourth :,(

peasants war triggers on low manpower + overextension, did you lose all your manpower in an offensive war? * So I finally managed to get elected HREmperor then my elector ally Saxony decides to start a war against TWO OTHER ELECTORS then fucking Cologne, my other elector ally, decides to start another war idiotically, I decide to enforce peace against Hansa which somehow drags in Austria then Saxony gets in another war I don't even know ![]() look at all these wars. at least I'm getting that sweet trust for diplovassalization down the road ![]() I caught Austria trying to assault down a siege. I arrive when the garrison has 10 people remaining. Low morale + 6 shock god general = stack wipe

Yeah, after doing a bit of googling I found that out. I was helping out with some european wars while conquering east africa. My question was not how to prevent it, but how to deal with it as well as possible. I gave up, though, since I didn't have any good saves right after the event and I botched the early part. I think disbanding all my heavy ships, creating a bunch of vassals for the places I'm not gonna be able to hold anyway, focusing my forces on the mainlain (+ the colonies I built up myself) and praying for no wars would have been the best.
