For vehicles it's pretty much a necessity to switch your loadout depending on map, your opponents if you're sticking on a server and opponents are too(keep tabs on who's using what and who's not shit) and most certainly also depends on whether you have actual friends backing you up in your vehicle.

However, loadouts and whats the most effective thing will change depending on the state of the match. If you're playing 100% to win you'll hardly ever just be sticking to a single loadout or kit for a whole game, and having 2-3 different presets ahead of time specialized for different styles can be helpful. A quick glance through the top 10 players on the Assault class leaderboard reveals considerable use of the SCAR-H, ACE 23, ACE 52 CQB (carbine), M416, and AEK-971. This completely mirrors my experience in infantry combat, as I find myself cut down often with these cannons (and am also quite fond of the M416). The charts on Symthic are useful, but the individual weapon behavior, and overall similarities between many weapons in each category, leave most of the decision making up to the preference of the player. My example would be the fact that, based on the numerical characteristics, the F2000 should be one of the "better" assault rifles in the game; practical testing, however, shows that due to the extremely high ROF, it makes it quite challenging to effectively utilize in engagements with multiple enemies. The F2000 tends to dump it's clip so fast that targeting 3 enemies sequentially can often be interrupted by an untimely reload, a problem less likely to occur with a lower ROF AR.

Last I heard, people were still using ACE 23, AEK, Scar-H, ACE 52. The rest I don't even know anymore. Same for attachments, I used to know what were the "optimal" combinations for weapons with certain strengths but they've probably changed since then.

When will EA announce BF5 or the successor of BF4? Is it still worth getting BF4 now?

Depends on what you want to do in the game. I can't stand being a foot soldier most of the time due to the latency issues and bad netcode interp. Getting shot behind walls and cover, double KOs, shooting and doing no damage, etc. It's frequent enough to bother me. So if foot soldier is your thing and you're considering BF4, just know what you'll be forced to deal with. I usually fly the scout heli (I was one of those assholes who would dodge in and out of the buildings on Zavod racking up kills) as it's one of the few things I can tolerate. That's still fun to me, but it's about the only thing, so there's no variety in BF4 for me, and even that is a frustrating ordeal because countermeasures do jack shit and MAAs are still completely stupid. Attack Helicopters are really, really bad, which is really disheartening since I've been a pilot across most BF games since BF2. The stability of the game has improved drastically, but there have still been some connectivity problems that made me quit for a second time. Also, every time DICE patches the game, they break something new that remains a problem for weeks or months (read: the EMP blur bug that was making the game unplayable for a long time). I have other complaints that are more nitpicky (like how it's impossible to find a good game to play if you want to do squad play with three friends and how the online, social aspect is entirely lacking), but these are the biggest gameplay issue for me personally. The game was shoved out the door before it even got its teeth brushed or its shoes on, and the consumers are still paying for that attitude. I had some fun with it, but the honeymoon was short, and the one bit of longevity I found - being a pilot - is hampered by the fact that countermeasures are ineffective and that everyone is using engineer. In closing, I could probably squeeze out a very tentative recommendation with a number of asterisks attached to it. You can get some casual fun out of it, but the gunplay is average and occasionally laggy or buggy, the balance is kind of all over the place (with some guns that are simply way better than everything else)... the problems compound over time, and a competitive FPS this is really not. If you know what you're getting into, though, you can make an informed purchase at least. I'd give a more detailed summary but I bet you're already bored.

That and now Bomber Jet is a ton of fun. I only play like 3 maps: Gulf of Oman, Shanghai and Zavod. The rest I can't fucking stand. The Boat maps are fucking atrocious.

Yeah, the map pool is really, really bad.

Hmm I thought Hardline was fundamentally very different from BF4? I've watched some videos of Hardline on Youtube and it seems like more of a GTA style game mixed with some Battlefield elements. I'd rather play Watch Dogs to be honest.

Don't be fooled, it is BF4 in the same vein and style of gameplay. 32 vs 32 on a slightly smaller and less useful map. More gadgets. Same basic classes. Less useful vehicles except for transportation. Still chaotic, still round-base Buy weapons instead of unlocking them by playing rounds and earning money.

Hated both at the start of BF4 now only play those. I only played the DLC maps to get 10 hours for the achievment in. Most maps look gorgeous but play like shit. Almost every BF3 map beats every BF4 map. I will definitly not buy Hardline, probably wouldnt even install it if it was a free BF4 mod.

Flood Zone is a great map for infantry combat except when half your team decides to camp on the roof of buildings. And not to mention a enjoyable map for scout chopper pilots with all the tall structures to evade MANPADS spam. Now only if I get better at engaging other pilots. edit: There's also another thing I would like to bring up, why isn't there any love for the FAMAS? It's such an effective rifle with either a suppressor for CQC situations or muzzle break + angled grip for standard scenarios.
