This whole random spawn no matter where you log out is starting to piss me off. Finished playing this morning on one server so I logged out North of Elekro in the forest (Ghillie sniper and all), only to find myself logging into another server and spawning on the beach out in the open.... Died two seconds into connecting due to snipers on the mountain tops. Fuck.

Hey guys I'm back in DayZ after about one month, and from reading the last couple of pages, it seems that the game experience is quite unstable atm, this is very unfortunate. Thanks to the mods and server admins for their work. Hopefully everything will get better This game is the definition of fun.

Yeah I've seen this, and to be honest it looks a bit fishy (2 out of 20 false-positives), but I think with work it could be quite good.
Automated banning is bad, but automated kicking would be quite nice, I think I'll wait and see how it goes but I don't have the time to edit it myself for just kicks atm.

Yeah it's new, it shows up at the bottom of your debug monitor. Here's some info about it. Basically there are 3 skins (aside from clothing like camo or ghillie suits) - bandits (bad), survivors (neutral), and hero (good). It's just a very small incentive to be good I guess and it helps to team up if I'm a hero and see another hero - he should theoretically be less likely to just kill me and I him.

Also it was 2 possible false positives, perhaps after more investigating they turned out to be banned correctly (or maybe not). Hopefully it continues to improve and it really makes a difference.

However they don't really hide it that well but it means automated programs such as this could automatically ban everyone on the server. Which would suck. So I'm cautious about it until tested, perhaps we can use it in a cut down version.

As soon as I enter a server, i get kicked off the server without a reason (losing connection - I see always the red text saying something like "No msg received from Server since 5/10/15/20/etc seconds" This happens like 1 minute after im running around with my char (sometimes 3 mins). My friends can just play fine on the same server. I tried switching server but i keep getting kicked. Im using the Sixlauncher so I havent patched to 1.7.2.5 yet (i think). But the version thing shouldnt be a problem since my friends also havent patched yet.

Can any1 help me?

Frankly, by now I'd prefer being kicked off a server the moment a hacker joins, rather than being randomly killed/teleported every other game I play.

Is there a list of what the new battleeye version can catch and what it can't, by the way?

Yeah good point. It's always dangerous to automate something like banning people without sufficient testing.

He is getting alot of up votes and positive feedback. I'm sure there is a way to contact him directly. He answers question in the reddit thread. I think I played for about 3 hours and only saw 1 suspicious thing.

To basically have a thread on reddit saying I have this in place to stop hacking is a invitation for people to try. He is also one of the listed servers. Ill play on it some more to see if anything pops up 3hrs is kind of a small sample size. It could be promising though.


At this point I just like the experience to not be interrupted. There was a alot of retarts yesterday more than I ever seen. Could have been a bad day.

Either way could be something useful to look into.

I think people just want the TL servers to be safe as possible. So I hope these suggestions don't bother. In the end it is your server to run. It just sucks seeing it go down for the rest of the night like last night.

It was a bad day, I banned 3 myself, don't know about dark.
We restart every time we see a hack, and also one of the automated ones overlapped with it anyway.
I'll work with him on the google code project, I don't have a reddit account.

Manually update battleye, manually patch the DayZ and launch through DayZ commander.
Should work fine after that, try doing each one separately and testing if it works in order of BE, DayZ and commander.

Second overdue notice 14/08, says 48 hours until server is disabled

I'm not paying next month, this shit is ridiculous

382 is up and running again (apparently) because I put in a ticket on the 10th when my server was actually disabled, even though the invoice should have been on the 19th.

I don't know exactly how all this runs but I am learning. I brought up the idea of your program to my home server admin and one of his concerns is false bans. More specifically I guess there is a way where the hackers run the script through someone else or multiple people. So it looks like 20 people tried to spawn a helicopter when only 1 person has.
Also what is the best way to get in contact with you? Here?

It is completely understandable to be concerned about false-positives, and the specific point you brought up remains a genuine problem with my system. After consulting with some of the DayZ guys, we've concluded it would be difficult for a script kiddie to run a script on another player and have the script kiddie not be detected...but it is possible through some nefarious means. If you feel this problem outweighs the benefits of using my solution, then by all means, avoid it until it is better. :p
