If he meant the channel he's currently in as his, no I'm not. Just a misunderstanding. I was also talking about today. I suggest you unban me from the server or I'll be making a post on the DayZ forum about you banning me over this. You can ask Jochan, I did not battlelog.
I ran all the way up to 500m away from Kozlovka before logging.

I strongly suggest that the tone of this conversation takes a right turn.

Lovely drama although lacking entertainment for an outsider, anyway I'l definitely give your server shot even though I play from europe and don't like using TS with my broken english.
Seeing two 382 other being regular without TL tag, not related?

If I may chime in, noobs aren't losing much of anything really. The problem isn't that you killed a sniper and his friend, both whom were geared. The problem is that you just hid their body to grief them. What they lost is literally hundredfold what any of the noobs that they shot lost.

Don't worry, there are plenty of players from EU that play with everybody. Broken english or not you can communicate and thats the most important part of this game.

When people start banning people they don't like from their server, that's when it becomes a problem.

It's currently set to UTC-6, although I have asked about other offsets. I was told that eventually there will be options for all offsets, but not just yet. When that can be done, the server will be changed to UTC-4 (current east coast time). I think you need to do a positive UTC, because it's going to be empty at night US time and I won't really be playing the server ever if it's going to be night when I'm on. Not to try and sound demanding but our group will crumble if the server will be night every time we get on.
UTC +9 or +12 is probably best. Lemme describe them real quick:
UTC +9: Sunrise will occur between 2 and 3pm eastern time. Sunset will occur between 7 and 8am eastern.
UTC +12: Sunrise between 11am and noon eastern time. Sunset between 4 and 5 am eastern.
With either of those it will be morning in time for those of you that play earlier in the day and still be daylight out for those of us that play into night/late night. The only people that get the short end are people that play in the US morning which I think are a minority and none of our group.
UTC 9 would probably be the better of the two for the rest of the US timezones taken into consideration.

I like the night and we have loads of people on even when it's dark. When the master server list is working, we typically have close to a full server, even in the middle of the night.

I have one general question about how server times work. The 1337 server was in Atlanta but the in game time and rl time were off so when I got home at night (live near ATL) it was morning on the server. Is this because server admins can choose how to offset their server or a bug with the server Day Z installation of some kind caused it or something else?
If it's controlled by the admins, have you guys considered how you are going to set up the new server?
edit - I don't think you guys need it but I'm a systems admin for a small business irl so if you ever need or want the help managing the server let me know. As far as i understand it when the arma server starts it takes the time from the system and uses that. There are 2 bugs with the time. Clients will have incorrect time +/- 2 hours Server clock does not update time correctly there is a offset. Allot of providers are using scripts to change time to an specific timezone on arma server restarts. Allowing people who rented a managed server (multiple instances of arma server running on a box) to change time. Yes with our dedicated we would be the masters of in game time. (insert evil laugh) Depending on my time, complexity of arma server and time I have to school the admin team to manage it. We might take you up on that offer. Yeah next fall I will have a masters degree in Computer Networking. So managing a server is pretty easy because they taught us some Administration side of computers as well.

Me and shootem can attest...whenever we're on that server after about 2 am central it's completely empty. We went for about two hours looking for tents and were literally the only two people in server, with server hoppers occasionally coming along but the place is completely dead that late into the night

I second this actually. Call me a noob or a pussy or whatever but I really don't want to play every single day after work at night. After you get over the scary factor of a zombie apocalypse AND pitch darkness you realize that all night really does is slow you down. I have limited time to play, I'd much rather get the most out of my time by playing during the day than doing the same things at night and going infinitely slower.
I still plan to play on the TL server(s) regardless of time of day but it will definitely be less if it's always night when I can play.

Well I'll consider it then. But I'd want it set up so it's night at least some of the time I'm playing.

I like night, adds a great deal of fear to the game. With utc 9, what does it mean for us euros who play in the evening ?
