I have one general question about how server times work. The 1337 server was in Atlanta but the in game time and rl time were off so when I got home at night (live near ATL) it was morning on the server. Is this because server admins can choose how to offset their server or a bug with the server Day Z installation of some kind caused it or something else?
If it's controlled by the admins, have you guys considered how you are going to set up the new server?
edit - I don't think you guys need it but I'm a systems admin for a small business irl so if you ever need or want the help managing the server let me know.
As far as i understand it when the arma server starts it takes the time from the system and uses that.
There are 2 bugs with the time.
Clients will have incorrect time +/- 2 hours
Server clock does not update time correctly there is a offset.
Allot of providers are using scripts to change time to an specific timezone on arma server restarts.
Allowing people who rented a managed server (multiple instances of arma server running on a box) to change time.
Yes with our dedicated we would be the masters of in game time. (insert evil laugh)
Depending on my time, complexity of arma server and time I have to school the admin team to manage it.
We might take you up on that offer.

Go for it, it needs to be updated badly. We waited for quite a while with no response from Mord, should be ok I think.
Also, my updated OP will need to be updated a little bit (taking out the steam sale, a note about the 1337 server situation, listing of tofu's server, etc). The links should all still be fine though.

Somehow I cant see the servername and statistics anymore (by pressing "I") is that a server issue or is it me? (i checked the Control Options, "Multiplayer Statistics" is still bound to "I")

Also Black Widow is doing God's work. Hiding bodies is good because there is too much gun inflation atm. We must balance the DayZ economy. It sucks losing all your gear but that's part of the game too. Some of the most fun I had was going around under-geared and fighting my way through everything to find good loot.

You actually have no fucking clue what you're talking about. We have spent the past 2 weeks hunting vehicles and trying to establish a new camp on 382. Secondly, we spend most of our time in Berezino and Stary, or when possible hunting for crash sites. We very rarely camp Elektro, and we almost never go to Cherno.
What you did was kill bK who was providing overwatch for Grizzby, teaching him the game, while Grizzby (who had started playing just a few hours earlier, so good job protecting noobs..you actually removed his protection) was looking for tents so we could establish a camp. Then you hid his body just because you felt like you should protect noobs. Even when we do kill other TLers even we don't hide their bodies. Most of the time we try to recover loot and return it to them (ask oZii or Anesthetic). What you did was a total dick move for the sole purpose of being a dick. Unfortunately for us tents are more likely to spawn in markets than anywhere else, so sometimes we are forced to go to Elektro and Cherno. And you must be fucking insane to think we would go into Elektro or Cherno, with our gear, without overwatch. That is dumb. And we are not.
And your image shows a person named Tweet looking at Cherno. Who the fuck is Tweet? I see your TL account in the debug monitor so I assume it's you. In which case what you've proven is that you were looking at Cherno at the same time Jochan died. You don't provide a time, date, or even OTHER PLAYERS IN VIEW. Nameplates are also off, so unless you kill someone you don't even know who you're looking at.

I was in Cherno earlier undergeared etc. on TS with them and they helped me around the city and stuff. Can't say they are just there indiscriminately killing newbs.
