I agree it's managable but stuipid. I can't imagine not having a silenced weapon right now. You just burn through all your ammo if you aggro just 1.

this new patch is killing me!
on every server i join, i get stuck on loading until i'm forced to force quit the game
i want to check if the day z patch as well as my arma beta patch were installed correctly, is there any way i can see which version numbers i have installed??

I've been watching a lot of DayZ streams/videos and I'm thinking of picking it up.
What worries me is the idea of getting raped by guys with all the best gear when I'm just running around with a basic gun.
How do you deal with snipers etc, when you've just started out?

If you don't want to get raped when you've just started out, try to avoid Cherno, Elektro, Stary, and NW airfield. Also, be extremely careful when visiting towns such as Zelenogorsk, Berezino, Krasnostav, even Balota (west of Cherno). And be careful when approaching deer stands, they are very popular.
Basically, it seems that the places that offer the best loot are usually the most dangerous ones. If you don't go near these places you'll be pretty safe from other players.

Your gonna die when you first start. IMO you want to start off spawning in cherno and elektro to get a feel of the game quickly. Think of it like boot camp but you will die alot first. Probably be frustrated and say the game is impossible. At this point you it will click that you have to be more patient.
One of the ways most snipers spot you is aggro'd zombies. The game is fun as hell and addictive you just have to get past the hazing phase.
first you learn how to deal with zombies, then you learn what loot you can pick up/building you can enter. Then you start to learn the country side a little how important food, medical supplies, and water is.
get a gun and side arm.
Once you get the hang of that you start to learn that you can basically live in the woods and away from the main cities and start to learn where you get better guns at. Usually once you get country side on the TL server most people that are near will help you out cause thats where most of us hang out at. We have people in the west like myself, nick, cee, stevarius, zorkmnd, maestro, and you have people in the east like darkenergy, bk, tofu, shootemup, korv, mani, johan etc.

Who the fuck is the admin on the Team Liquid server?
My friend killed me (on accident) on the roof of a building in Cherno and my body despawned immediately before I could get back to it. We could still see other bodies of people we'd killed as much as 15 minutes ago. About an hour before, the admin spawned on the roof of the same building and we killed him immediately. I had a fucking CZ and a ton of other valuable shit on me. Admin abuse at it's finest.

I don't see how your corpse despawned after getting killed by your friend is related to admin abusing his power at all. How do you know that it is not a bug of the game? How do you know that the admin has a power to despawn people's corpses? That admin might not even know that you got killed by your friend. Can you explain why my body would arbitrarily disappear in less than a minute the first time one of us died after killing an admin when no other body we had killed had disappeared in anywhere remotely near the same span of time? We could still see bodies everywhere. There's no code that changes the duration of corpses with elevation. There has to be some form of third party intervention in that situation.

Admins can't even do whatever you are suggesting and bodies despawning really fast is a known bug that's been here for a while.
