Where are you at again? If you don't have anything that valuable I would just respawn. Join Teamspeak, someone on there may be able to help you out.

Also, there's this group of two guys that like to camp on top of the hospital roof in Elektro. I've already seen them do it twice so just a heads up before anyone ventures into town. The blue bus? that was yours? I found it in the woods and didn't think it was TL so i took it, but parked it just like 500m east of that position after riding for like 5 min. Didn't know it was yours! It was where I left it last I passed it, I can help you find it if you have trouble
Was it in a clearing surrounded by a forest, on a hill? I don't mind if you took it, I'm just wondering lol. It's been there for more than two weeks. If it had a car wheel and a few sodas in its inventory then it was the one I found.

Its a good gun I wouldnt want to respawn. if you have a FN Fal you probably have other pretty decent gear. I think Cee is gonna come help you out.

Anyone in or near Cherno and wanna meet up? Packing a 1911 but not much else. Probably gonna head to one airfield or another to look for something better.

I have never played DayZ but i am very interested in it atm but I have a lot of questions, i hope you guys can help me:
1. Is it even fun to play alone? it seems to me that everyone is very hostile and its quite risky and impossible to play with someone you dont know.
2. Is there any "lategame" goal? Is there something like "lategame-gear" that you are farming up to and how many items are there, from what ive seen(not much) the variety seemed very limited (or are there challenging areas ? like more zombies -> more changes to get good loot?).
3. Personal Goals, atm i think i am not the kind of player that would have fun killing other people all the time, so the goal of the game is to survive, but the best way to survive seems to be logging off an not to play °_° is there any other goal i can achieve in DayZ ? I fear DayZ could get very boring for me after some time (if the PvP aspect doesnt interest me). So maybe you guys could tell me what makes you want to keep playing Day Z.
4. Servers: How are servers created generally? Are there servers by the devs of the mod? by Arma 2's developers? random people? Is every Server the same? Do they have different Propertys (like for example some Servers have other drop rates or something).
5. Vehicles, how easy/hard is it to get some useful vehicles? I saw that you had to find one first and then most of the time you have to repair it, is it even possible to get a Car repaired when you are alone ? (i expect that i get killed by the time i fixed 1 part).
6. Patches & Updates: how "regularly" is Day Z patched? Or maybe is Day Z considered "done" already and the devs dont do anything anymore?
Thanks in advance for every answer

OMG Is it normal that you have to spend 10 minutes to use a tent after you pitched it inside a tree?? Most annoying shit ever lol

So many subjective questions...
1: I play alone 50% of the time. I find it is stressful, unpredictable, and most importantly, very fun. The fact that you can be a lone traveler and run into any type of person at any time is awesome. And the constant stress of watching for any movement while trying to survive is actually a huge plus. You can't get bored if you're freaking out.
2: There aren't any drops or anything in the traditional RPG sense. Because some loot is more rare, the longer you stay alive, the better your chances are of coming across it at some point. The progression can be very non-linear, but in a lot of cases, you will find a pistol, then move up to a mid range gun, then maybe get lucky enough to grab a badass weapon and other items. Stay alive longer, find more awesome stuff. The variety is a lot more.... .varied than you would think also.
3: My personal goal is to have a ghillie suit, a "high-end" gun, a vehicle, a tent, and probably some people to pal around with who aren't complete assholes. That right there takes a lot of luck, a lot of patience, and the willingness to ask questions first, and shoot later! Also, the fact that every time I play, I survive a little longer is a huge incentive.
4: I don't know the answer to this honestly.
5: They seem to be pretty difficult in general. Unless you're lucky enough to stumble across a vehicle that was left somewhere, or you get the drop on someone and kill them so you can take theirs. It's possible to fix a vehicle yourself, but it is a huge pain in the ass.
6: Patches seem to be constantly in the works. There are balance changes, item change, environmental and character changes.... everything you would want to be scrutinized and tweaked in a game definitely is. I look forward to patches like crazy. Every time something changes drastically, it's like a whole new game!
My opinion on the subject! Enjoy!

On most server names it says I need 1.71 is that of Arma or the dayz files? 1.60 is outdated as hell, you need the 1.7.1.5 version that we are using on the dayz server find the files here. http://dayzmod.com/downloads.php
also some servers require you to use the arma 2 beta patches, on the TL server we use the latest patch 94444 http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php/

That's personally the best thread I've come across. It usually takes care of most issues from what I understand.

Wrong. 1.7.1.5 is the DayZ version
1.60.94444 is the ArmA2 beta patch version. When it says you have version 1.60 (and not the beta version), it always shows that.. don't worry about that too much
Although, that "bad version" thing you're talking about IS the beta patch, and it's recommended to always have the latest to ensure you're able to play on the most servers possible (iirc, TL is the highest atm)

Takes some time to figure out how fast you can move without being detected and how close you can get. Make sure near or in town you are at least crouch running and toggling to crouch walk when needed with shift (double tap shift to toggle on/off).

Thanks alot of your answer, it helped me a great deal, but what i still want to know is concerning this:

What happens if you have all of this? why do you want it? I mean, do you want to have all this stuff just to have it or is there some sort of Area that is highly dangerous and you want to pass it. Or do you want to kill other people with it until you die yourself?
I mean, do you NEED this stuff to achieve a different goal or are these just ... "gimmicky" items what you want just to fool around and do whatever you did before ?

So what do I do if I have agroed a zombie? and in a city zombie area crouch walk?

If you can find a building with 2 entry ways you can lose zombies by running in one door and sneaking away through the other. Zombies can't run inside. You can shoot them (but get in a building first) but that noise attracts other zombies. You don't have to crouch walk through a whole city but how much you do depends on how confident you are or how careful you want to be.
