I was thinking we could have team death matches to get better at pvp combat. We have been in situations where training together would have been beneficial. The concept is this, get two even numbered teams and go to a city. Electro/cherno/berizino/etc, and try to work with your team to kill the other. Each team gets 1 primary with 4 mags, 1 sidearm with 4 mags, 2 bandages, 1 blood bag, 1 painkiller, 1 morphine, 1 food, and 1 drink. Or something like that. Last team standing wins. The rest of the people get on overwatch positions around the map to keep tabs on other people entering the city. You wont have to worry about losing gear, only your precious zombie kills. This way if we ever have to coordinate a large group effort to defend a camp or something we will all have experience. If some raiding clan joins ATL 69 and starts waging war against us, our camps, etc then this may prove to be very helpful.

So many gameplay tips to even mention, you will die a lot and it can be frustrating if you let it but just keep learning about new things. Learning the controls might be a good start. I think several EU guys play on the server so you probably can if you want. Might be some EU servers the TL guys hang out in too but I'm not sure. edit - There's also a guide in the OP and although a bit dated now, it still has a lot of useful info.

We have sick gear and weapons.. and we have mounds of both. We can replenish them easy... so here... take a gun and some food/water... lets go kill some strangers... *high five*" What it is actually like: "O, hi noobs. Getting guns/gear is easy. My group has a stockpile of 50+ guns and enough ammo to kill every zombie on the map.... but we cant take you to our camp because you are too much of a liability to our camp's well being. Maybe after you learn to be as Gosu as us, we will give you a ride in one of our vehicles, and maybe let you see our camp." maestrosc's new plan: setup tents with makarovs/ammo along the spawn points... and eventually set up a decent campsite where new tl'ers can come and get some gear before venturing off into the harsh world of DayZ. idk i dont ever plan on having a hoard of 20+ guns per person...and trying to have every vehicle on the map... i could do that on a non-tl server and not think twice about every shooting on sight... only reason i wanted to play with TL'ers was the dream of one day having a giant TL camp... and if it gets discovered/destroyed... o well the fun part was putting it together anyways.. gives you a goal besides "NEED MOAR STUFF" I just went onto the ts server and said that i was new, so one of the guy came to meet me on the shore and showed me where you could get weapons in elektra etc and after that we were just running around in elektra xD. Was pretty fun. So tbh they were really nice. Maybe its you who wants to get all the gear without doing anything for it?

Don't get attached to your stuff. Other players probably will shoot you on sight. Best place for fresh gear are the main cities Elektro and Cherno, and Balota airstrip. They are also the places that almost always have other players in them. And most of them will try to kill you. Here is a good map to use: http://dayzdb.com/map#3.074.117 Learn where stuff is ASAP. Cities and Towns have roadsigns (in Russian). You are much safer away from the coast than near it. Farms usually have decent loot. The red dots (military spawns) have the best loot. They are also much more dangerous places to be. Stary Sobor and the big airport known as NW have the most red dots, and are also the most dangerous. Before you go up north, you generally want a bunch of firepower, morphine, and the following things on your toolbelt: compass, box of matches, hatchet and hunting knife. Morphine and other medical supplies can be found in hospitals in both Cherno and Elektro, and the military tent camp in Cherno. The inventory system is terrible, this guy does ok explaining the basics: Use your sidearm for killing Zombies. Not your Lee Enfield (or other noisy as fuck weapon). You probably should try to remember what types of houses you can and cannot enter. Wish I had known some of this stuff when I started out.

That guy who helped you had nothing or very little to lose. He had no tent, no vehicles, no sick guns/gear. If you hindered him or worse, turned on him and killed him later it wouldn't matter. But some guys on the server have put in many many hours into their current character and have amassed a ton of amazing stuff. If they die it's actually a loss. Now that isn't my particular style of play but if that's what they enjoy then that's cool with me, you gotta at least respect that. I don't expect everyone to play so casual like me and I'm sure they don't expect everyone to play as hardcore as them. I happen to enjoy the journey to get good guns, gear, etc although admittedly I haven't gotten half the stuff some of the TLers have. The point I was trying to make is that once you die, you die. All your shit is gone. If you spent days gathering stuff only to lose it all it would certainly sting, even for a 'casual' player. The more you have the more you have to lose, I don't blame the hardcore guys for being extra careful and paranoid. Not to speak for Maestro but I think his whole point was that we need a mini version of the camp with average weapons and basic supplies to help out new players or respawning players. If those tents get raided who gives a shit, it was common stuff anyway but that common stuff goes a long way for new players. This could be a more casual, open encampment as opposed to the (rightfully) closed off camp.

You directed a statement at me followed by 'good thing not everyone is a dick in this game'. It seemed pretty clear to me. But fair enough, I shouldn't have assumed that I guess - my mistake.
