 So after trying to get a good character going and dying relatively early due to zeds or lack of food/water as a new player, I finally got to experience the real Day-z. Here's my story: Me and my friend Jack loaded up both at Cherno, headed straight for the yellow crane and construction site to pick up some food and bandages, found a couple of pistol clips but nothing fantastic. After trying to get more into the town we decide to head north and go through several small towns and managing to find a crossbow and pistol as we go. So far so good. We then find a location to the east that has some promising loot and enroute we find a downed heli, and after about 5 minutes of dodging zeds we find a M249 with 2 boxes of ammo, a (SA05? sniper? can't remember the name) and a silenced SMG. We we're extremely happy with this as we now have a proper means of defending ourselves if we should run into any bandits. As I look around I see some ruins on a nearby hill and decide that we could make camp there for a while as we had been running around for a good 2 maybe 3 hours now, and finding little loot around the place we decide to check the large stone tower, and we did find quite a lot that we could survive on for the time being. But the peace didn't last long as my friend said he could hear gunshots nearby, so we prepared to fight. I could see from the top 2 people running towards the entrance, One man comes in, comes upstairs with a winchester in hand and starts to loot before he even looks around, and us not wanting to take the risk immediately kill him, "White has been killed" and search his body for anything good. Ammo and food, great. But we still knew his friend was still around. I go up to the top once again and look around the surrounding area and see a small head and arms poking above a ruined part of the castle, he was aiming at the top so I knew this was his friend. Having a grenade spare I tried throwing it, but failed miserably as it landed too far, and it was too hard to shoot over as the angle was just bad, so I threw some spare flares hoping to attract zeds to his location, none arrive but he seems to freak and runs away for a while. I head down to the bottom of the tower and prepare to run out to find him, but as I am just about to leave a huge explosion happens nearby, and 4 "has been killed." messages pop simultaneously. "WTF?" we think, but decide to head out after a minute or so of silence. 4 bodies laying right outside the entrance, one I assume was his friend and 3 others, I still have no idea how this happened but assume that he threw a grenade at the other 3 and then was shot in the process, ending in them all dieing. But I didn't care as I was too wrapped up in me and Jack looting an ALICE pack each, tons of blood packs, cooked meat, water, ammunition and bandages. No cool weapons, but damn it was a hell of a rush during the entire 30 minutes or so as it happened, earning myself and my friend Jack our first kills. TL;DR: After searching for a while, camping in a tower and killing a guy, we reap the benefits of an engagement right outside and are now set for life in the forest. | ||

Yeah that would of been great but considering we usually have people guarding the hill from every direction it is unlikely. | ||
