It doesn't look like it's really too big a step above DoW2 graphically (not to say it looks bad - DoW2 is still a good-looking game). That is probably why they are doing alpha-testing like this though, to figure out which machines they need to optimize for. | ||

The system requirements are actually quite low and given that this is still an alpha, there's still plenty of room. | ||

They are not under NDA and posted their experience online. Still I think allot of things will change with it being in alpha and the event info being pre alpha / demo. You could try and creep on the coh2 forums. It seems allot of alpha testers are posting about their peeves in the public forum due to ignorance. Mods are running from thread to thread reminding people but new ones pop up in an amazing rate. They will probably start locking stuff down or start trowing the ban hammer around. | ||

It's in a company's best interest to make their games run on as many different systems as popular. | ||

But yes i am a gamer with a good rig its called an gamers PC. It is the industry's best interest to push the envelope on development and produce greater and more demanding games as hardware develops. That is why I dislike consoles, because there is a limit of what the developer can do with the hardware set released (plus the input devices which results in dummed down control and other shenanigans.) Tough compatibility and keeping the min requirement on mid their gaming rigs is important for the reason you stated maartendq.
