Action based combat is especially alluring to me but no game has really pulled it off in the MMO setting. The PvP looks stellar with that horde on horde keep action, and with their "megaserver" which wants to put EVERY player on the same server (is that even possible?), I think PvP is going to be either crazily awesome or a lagfest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxJTsq2XeKY It is possible to put everyone on the same server, though I don't know if it is with the amount of people Elder Scrolls Online will have. EVE Online does it just fine, but there's usually never more than 50k people online at any one time, so of course it's hard to tell what the end result will be with this game.

The factions are also more interesting and much more in line with DAOC. Plus, stamina always made ES games more strategic. Should be a good tool in a MMO.

Anyway, we don't have much to go on but I love Elder Scrolls and am interested to see where they go with this.

Some very very nice PvP in them, so I would check them out.

Leaving real life for a bit to go on holiday in Tamriel, be somewhere else, enjoy the environment. I don't need mmo players in that. Logging in and see stuff like: "WTS item X, LFG, omg this game sucx, wow > elderscrolls online" all day long. no thx, love elder scrolls, but gonna skip this ![]()

People who turn on their trade chat are the people looking to trade. The only chat channels you should be turning on are whispers and guild chat. You'll find that the world appears much smaller and peaceful...

Regardless, I'm kinda excited for this game! It better have enough TES elements in it to be worthy of being called TES Online.

but all of this doesn't matter anyway if the gameplay isn't engaging, and I still haven't seen enough to build any decision on that

Hahahaha, yeah but its understandable that not many people have heard of it. Aventurine have the worst PR i have ever encountered. So sad that they had to be the developers, there was so much potential in that game.

What EVE does is quite different, as the interactions between the players are not as "actiony", and rendering space and most objects in space is relatively cheap, and there isn't a lot of animation going on at any point in time. Rendering full natural environment, hundreds of fluid moving, organic character models interacting in an action-based combat, and putting them all in the same "realm" in what's very likely to be a much more popular game (famous IP, good marketing, looks good etc)? I'm skeptical, but prepared to be amazed.
