I guess this gives me a reason to finally stop caring about the series. Sad... Morrowind was so, so good. :/

Now having LAN on Skyrim would be freaking awesome ![]() edit: ^ WTF The majority of people think MMOs suck, but they still play it for the lack of a better alternative. MMO is still the cheapest entertainment out there capable of wasting any amount of free time.

MMO is still the cheapest entertainment out there capable of wasting any amount of free time. That's exactly why I hate most MMOs. They're usually boring as fuck and on top of that it's a massive waste of time. The only MMO I ever remotely enjoyed was WoW back in Vanilla/BC. Life is short enough, why waste it on endless, boring games? I could understand it if they were super fun or something but...

As far as MMOs are concerned I notice they invariably throw any sense of lore out the window in favor of what the designers think is cool factor. I personally find this highly annoying.

I think the appeal for most MMO's is playing with your friends and the ability to interact with random people on the server anyways. Oh, and also being able to show off your hard earned gear :D.

sounds like they are putting the focus on immersion and environment also they are using xp/tms to level up heres combat talking vids http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2012/05/29/the-tactical-combat-of-the-elder-scrolls-online.aspx im interested. whole point of MMOs is communal immersion; if anyone is gonna make a decent MMO itll be the people who created morrowind etc also the super simple "tactical" combat system can potentially be epic

Jesse Cox put up a new video on this game today, and it actually looks pretty interesting. From what he said in the video, it seems like Zenimax have actually done a pretty good job with the game unlike I thought they would. There isn't any actual gameplay footage of it yet though, so I'd still be a bit skeptical of the final product.
