I've never had any issues with GFWL so I'll still be buying Dark Souls the day it comes out.

Can someone enlighten me why GFWL has such a bad reputation? I understand the whole region locked thing, it's really unfortunate that people who truly want to buy the game can't.

Save corruption, inability to properly install patches, disconnection from multiplayer portion randomly, poor support, etc

Dark Souls is going to be on GFWL due to the game being a port from 360, and having similar net code. If Dark Souls is to be on steam, they have to devote another team just to work on a new net code for the game.

Please dont boycott this just because of Games for Windows live. it sucks but the games out in August, theres no way they can write new netcode and do a decent port in that short amount of time.

We should be happy they even bothered doing a PC port.

Not necessarily...people buy GFWL games because they want the game. People buy game from Steam half of the times due to impulsive shopping. Part of the argument that PC market is still viable, thus bringing Namco to the table, was due to the strong sales of Skyrim and Witcher 2 on steam. well I am happy that they made the port to PC and I will buy it even though I hate GFWL but I will make sure to tell teh developers that I would appreciate it if they scapped GFWL from their next title.

im really getting angry at all the rant towards namco because of gfwl. unthankful idiots without a clue. it might seem kinda useless from a gamers point of view, but certainly a developer will have good reasons for using it. when i look at the petition and as first point read "difficult to use", are these people for real? get a mac and play farmville.

Whilst I'm certainly not a fan of GFWL I'll definatelty be picking this game up. I really wanted to play it until I first realised that it was console only, but then for them to port it to PC because we asked them for it (yeah I know they're doing it for the potential money, but still nice they listened) pretty much instantly secured good will points with me and I'm looking forward to it. That said I did leave a message on their site asking them to consider alternatives to GFWL in future games.

I'll just wait for the steam version, will prob be on sale by then as well. For people who have never had experience for GWFL and think that the people talking are a vocal minortiy that have had problems, it is baaaaaaaaaad. You literally cannot install some patches, not some people have trouble with a patch, no one can install a patch. Among other things. ugh.

My friend who has the same taste in games as I do swears that this is the best game that he ever played. Needless to say, can't wait for it to drop on PC. From what I saw watching him play, the game is right up in my alley, somewhat reminding me of Vagrant Story (my favorite game) by its atmosphere.

People really need to be so ungrateful because of this GFWL deal, i know it sucks and we would prefer it wasn't there but it is and this is still a GREAT game. If this game does well the next one will probably not come with GFWL, but if all you pirate or not buy this over this issue we won't get a good pc version next time either.

It is mostly a single player game but "Why would i buy it if multi player doesnt work?" is not a valid argument, these people still spent money to make this game and they brought it to PC's on thousands of people asking for it. So stop being so ungrateful and buy it if you're gonna play it, do us all that little favour.

Not sure if I will buy it because of GFWL. For people that never had any problem with it: some patches doesn´t work, I bought dlc for one game and it refused to download/install it, sometimes it doesn´t connect so I can´t even play the game.

Just realised I didn't see the TotalBiscuit Mailbox video which basically just deals with the issue. I agree with a lot of what he said but he says it better than I could realistically here. Generally he addresses multiple emails in a video, but this one is pure Dark Souls/GFWL.
