We'll have to wait until gameplay footage is out to judge that. People were critical of SimCity 4's "god mode" before launch and everyone speculated how it'd potentially ruin the franchise, and in the end it boiled down to the usual mechanics of previous games in a pretty outfit with the god mode just being the landscaping tool.

My brother and I used to take turns playing SC3K on our house computer. We're both grownups now, but I'm getting really excited about the prospect of building a city next to his.
Give me some more upscale jazz (seriously, could a soundtrack be better?) and more awesome city building and I'm in!

We haven't seen one single screenshot and you are already able to pre-order it and pay ridiculous amounts of money for stuff that one had got for free 5 years ago. "Limited edition" and "digital deluxe"... i really don't know if i should cry or laugh my ass off. Sorry, but this is just... no words. It's like an unintended satire...

Never played a sim city game but the concept has always had me really intrested and intruiged are there any good cheap ones on steam atm?
Regardless I will hopefully be picking up this game it comes out :D.

Airport crime rate was a bug. Police stations had a fixed range, the airport was too large so even adjactant stations could never reach the center of the airport zone, thus rendering the whole thing "criminal".

I'm pretty excited about this. Played all the SimCity games, including the very first one and even a little of the steaming pile of crap that was Societies. After watching the presentation on it I'm a little worried though. Looks like it will probably be requiring an Internet connection with everything being "multiplayer", i.e. your city will reside in a region with other players (no doubt as an excuse to have heavy online DRM). As someone who likes playing his games solo that worries me. I don't want to see random strangers building cities around mine, thank you very much.
