I still liked my PSP but that's becuse I flashed it and had full access to custom firmwares, including 16-32 Bit emulation. Played through a bunch of my old PSX favorites on it but only really love Lumines, Loco Roco and maybe half a dozen other games actually made for it. Software sells hardware so let's wait and see. I can see this being very succesful from the pure specs. Plus, it comes out on my birthday^^ Quick question, can you somehow get the signal on your TV? Considering its power that might be pretty cool. | ||

Selling 20k a week compared to PSP 60k, original DS 60k and 3DS 240k. I'm no 3DS fan but if nothing changes it's won Japan more than PS3>360 did. | ||

I think the vita has really big potential with so many control options, it's just a matter of if a developer will make a game that is fun and utilizes these features well (IE a good game that can only be played well on the vita). sony publishes a shitload of first party games for the PSP/vita, I just wish they would use original IPs that are designed around the system instead of trying to squeeze gimmicks onto PS3 franchises (such as with uncharted). there are a lot of first party developers from sony that could make really cool games for the vita if given the chance, it's just a matter of if they will. btw i dont like sport games at all but i thought the way the fifa game on vita uses the back touch is really cool. basically the back touch screen represents the goal, and wherever you are touching is where your player will shoot the ball toward when you shoot. i think the system is definitely the better designed handheld compared to the 3DS, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see what sort of games come out on the system. there's definitely a niche that can exist for near-console fidelity games that take advantage of the vita's touch screens and stuff for a cheaper price/budget than actual console games, but i dont want to play just a low budget ps3 game with a bunch of gimmicks tacked on for nearly the same price as a real ps3 game. | ||

Wish it was different, but I felt like i almost had to force myself to play my original PSP over the years to justify my purchase. The vita looks like itll be more of the same from sony. didn't expect this post to be so negative, so I'll add this in: The hardware itself does look nice. The screen looks amazing (albeit the touchscreen doesn't look as responsive as some quality smart phones these days *from what I saw after watching giantbomb use it for nearly 3 hours), D-pad looks 100x better than its predecessor (especially for any fighting/platform games!), dual analog sticks (FINALLY), though slightly smaller buttons (doesn't look like that would be a problem). The back touch feature seems.. weird to me. Doesn't appear that many, or any game developers really know what to make of it. Screen touch within games seemed almost useless except as a novelty feature. anywho, i'm still excited to see what comes out of this system | ||

Similar to PS3, I think vita is something people will eventually get. The Vita, imo, packs a lot more than the 3DS. Sooner or later people will start making 3rd party mem cards for the Vita. Games are also on the expensive side... | ||
