Conversely, you can just kill the rest of her team fast enough so that when the other 2 characters die, the Phoenix player only has around 3 meters (they nerfed meter gain in Ultimate remember?). Ultimately, she's an extremely high risk character with high reward, considering all the setups there are to kill her even when she turns dark. Why aren't all the top players using her? In my opinion that's because the phoenix vs. phoenix matchup might be too random. Players wanting to have more control over the match is a good reason to not engage in such a matchup. Anyway sure, there are setups and strategies tailored to deal with her. I don't deny that, I've seen some in action, and some are quite powerful. What I meant in my previous post is that at FChamp's level, these strategies become relatively ineffective. These setups might be sufficient vs. lesser level players, but, again, I think that Phoenix play at an extremely high level is just too good all around. Anyway this is all from a spectator's perspective; all I want is to watch entertaining and hype matches. All these phoenix victories look anti-climatic as hell to me. When I was watching the finals, as soon as Fchamp switched to that Phoenix team, I just knew he would win the two bo7 as well as the whole thing  Such a skilled player, using a phoenix team? I only watched the FChamp/DioX finals from the Curleh VOD, but based on who participated, no honest threat to Champ's Phoenix team was present (Justin was using his Iron Fist team which is always welcome, Combo still trying to work out his Vanilla team, but most of his matches are really reliant on Spencer anchors just from CEO, Viscant being a fraud as usual even with Phoenix). DiosX is a great Doom player but based on what I've been seeing from Clockw0rk and MarlinPie with Doom/Ammy, Dios isn't really running the most optimal comp/broken stuff. I'd definitely be surprised if a primary Phoenix based team made it to Grand Finals, FChamp would probably only throw out his Phoenix team if he has prior knowledge that his opponent hates fighting Phoenix, or if his Dormammu team runs into trouble/counters. Dark Phoenix of course is great and massively powerful, but no one is worrying about her when there's considerably more troublesome things at play as soon as the match starts (Morrigan/Doom Missiles, Doom/Ammy THC, Zero May Cry, Vergil) Either way, good players that have good comps (Justin's Spencer/Vergil/FW team, ChrisG's Morrigan/Doom team, MarlinPie, *insert Zero May Cry player* all have ways to easily deal with either the strat to get to 5 bars, or Dark Phoenix herself, and at least force Champ to play Dormammu which I'm pretty sure he would rather play anyway. I just hope that the whole TAC infinite business doesn't make this trouble (Phoenix has one >_<) Anyways, I can't wait for EVO. I really, really hope Uryo does well AE, rep all the Sakura players out there.  | ||

Think i'll go full into FG and buy a PS3+Stick. Maybe i will stick to FG in general more than into Dota2 etc. For PS3 i want to get AE, KoF13, UMvC3. And of course try to reach as best as i can. Last FG i played was Soul Blade. lol i hope it will work | ||

I have no concrete information for this, but on tournament streams I've heard nothing but shit talk about PS3 and PSN. I'm playing UMvC3 on PS3 myself and since I don't have a router I don't play much online, but the few times I've tried it seems much harder to find an opponent with decent connection compared to at my friends place who plays on Xbox. | ||

I almost never play online since I usually have friends to play with, once you get used to lag-free play, online is almost impossible. None of my high-execution combos works online for me, I drop them after the first few hits (I'm a marvel monster). | ||

Fanatiq wearing his sunglasses with a dead ass mug hahaha. Both dudes with deadpan faces Triple Edit: Infrit gets a near perfect game 2! :O:O:O Quad Edit: XFactor Nova hypers both mag AND sent out... Fanatiq down to Storm vs Spencer/Sent. FANATIQQ WINS WITH LOW HEALTH STORM CHIP!!!! Quin Edit: Infrit drops Magneto in game 4 but manages to kill Storm with Spencer. Magneto follows through for Fanatiq and kills Spencer. Sentinel comes in and kills Mag, Fana Sent vs Nova/Sent. NO X FACTOR SENT V SENT. Fanatiq picks up infrit and should have won but drops him!!!! Infrit comes back with it and wins! GAME FIVE GO SEX EDIT FOR GAME 5: Rumors that Fanatiq dropped it on purpose in order to make a hype game 5 ending. Magneto killed instantly. Fanatiq blows xfactor with storm to kill nova. Infrit picks up storm and kills her. Sent vs sent/Spencer. Spencer drops Sent and Sent gets a reverse hard drive but somehow Spencer falls out?!?!? Infrit wins and walks away saying NOTHING. Edit 6: Discussion on whether that was a bait by Fanatiq for a later money match. So.... they're saying he's sandbagging? Fanatiq comes on stream and asks for a money match saying he's going to start training today. | ||

Wong wins the first set and now whoever wins the next one wins the whole thing :S Triple Edit: Eliver's zero keeps dropping his loops :S He's up 1 game to none atm, though. Justin ties it up and Eliver looking defeated Game three Wong snaps in wesker and kills him, taskmaster v 3 with no x factor. Justin wins game 3 with chip. Game 4, this could be it! Killer Kai holds on and done it! 2-2 here we goooo!Quad Edit: Zero gets picked up and dropped, Wolvy gets picked up and looped to death BUT WAIT NO HE DROPS IT! This game is highlighting just how good these two players are defensively. Zero finally gets knocked out after a good 20-30seconds of mind games and blocks from both players. Taskmaster picked up and then dropped! Kills wolvy, though. Tries to chip task to death but he lives! Crosses the screen and gets bopped :< TIME!!!! WONG WINS ON TIME!!!!!!!! NO WAYYYYYYYYY To do a final edit lol: Wesker picks up Storm with 7s left, Akuma comes in immediately pops xfactor super jumps and hypers right into wesker's face. Chip damage drops Wesker below Akuma's life and boom... time runs out. An insane finish. | ||

Unless something has changed recently and Wesker no longer can combo for over 3 seconds after an OTG? | ||
