it would be stupid for the hornets to chase assests and allow them to walk away, specifically the most important assest in the trade.

Griffin gets the lion's share of the headlines and attention, but the simple fact is that right now Love is the better player. Love's offensive game is far more advanced than Griffin's and his prowess from behind the arc makes him a more versatile threat, as well as the Timberwolves' No. 1 option to take the last shot. Right now Griffin is no more than the Clippers' fourth option to take the final shot for the win. Love is an anomaly. There simply hasn't been a player like him. Last season he was the first player in NBA history to average 15 rebounds and shoot 41 percent from the 3-point arc. This season he's on pace to become the first player since Hakeem Olajuwon in 1990 to average 24 points and 14 rebounds.

He was the same guy that said Kevin Love is the best Power Forward in the NBA when I think it's been painfully clear that it's Bosh this year, with Lamarcus Aldridge at #2.

I agree that Bosh and Lamarcus are the two premier PF right now, and I never thought I'd put Bosh's name down for that. I'm still under the impression that Z-Bo is better than Griffin and Love as well.

Bosh was one of the top PFs in the league, probably even top 3 but people don't pay attention to his defense. When it comes to casual fans and sportswriters (especially some at ESPN, god they are terrible at times) you're either Kevin Garnett level or Amar'e level.

I think Love is the better play but, and I'm sure Chris Palmer wrote that nonsense - who gives a shit about who takes the final shot on their team? That doesn't tell us anything about their ability to play the game. He was the same guy that said Kevin Love is the best Power Forward in the NBA when I think it's been painfully clear that it's Bosh this year, with Lamarcus Aldridge at #2. It's easy for people to pick the spearhead of a team. Bosh sort of drowns when both Wade & LBJ plays, even though he's putting up good numbers and is a really efficient scorer.. When you look at Timberwolves they've got one guy who's got every stat bolded and underlined - and they're winning a lot more than the year before.. .. also I find Bosh' play to be unorthodox for PF (but that's just me, I guess, I'm weird that way).. so I rarely think of him as a PF - in fact I tend to forget him when talking about the best PFs in the league (even though he clearly is one of them)

That's exactly right! Blake is actually freakishly UN-Long (giggity.) His awful defensive instincts combined with his inability to block shots and disrupt passing lanes in the interior makes him the worst defensive starter in basketball!!! That's a bit of an exaggeration, since Steve Nash is still a starter. But he is really bad. Top PFs: 1. Chris Bosh 2. Kevin Love 3. LaMarcus Aldridge 4. Is Pau Gasol a power forward? 5. Z-Bo/Blake Griffin 6. Josh Smith???

Way to give up a 27 point lead after only scoring 56 points in Boston earlier this week.

Millsap is shooting .548 from the field, as the primary option, Blake is scoring .518. FT% is 70% to 60% in favor of Millsap. TS % is .583 for Millsap, and .529 for Griffin. When comparing the next stats I'll be using PER36 as Millsap plays less minutes than Blake per game, by about 5. The rebounding rate is in favor of Griffin, at 11.4 PER36, compared to Millsaps 10.2, however they are about equal at OR, with Millsap and Blake both averaging 3.4 and 3.5 respectively. It is defensive rebounding where Blake is more efficient, and where he beats Millsap is one more board PER36. (7.7 for Blake, 6.6 for Millsap). For assist to turnover ratio, well, Millsap has more assists than turnovers, Griffin does not. Defensive statistics show that Millsap has 1.9 steals PER36, and 0.8 blocks Per36, Griffin has .9 steals PER36, and .5 blocks PER36. Without using the eye test, which will show anyone that Millsap is a better defender than Griffin, we see proof on paper that Millsap is better. If Griffin is potentially a top tier PF, Millsap IS a top tier PF. Certainly through the first 16 games of this season.
