Bill Walker is also fucking terrible defensively.
Give the guy a break, Lebron makes everyone look terrible defensively with the notable exception of Paul Pierce.
Also, LOL again Orlando. That is not the way you are going to keep Dwight Howard.

Austin Daye went 10-49* to start the season...He can ball, but like slyboogie said, it seems something is off with his shot and hopefully he can get a rhythm back.
*forgot to add a game where he went 5-11

There's "you can't defend him" and there's "this guy is just bad". Blown rotations, being lazy, constant ball watching, playing UP on a guy when the ball is on the other side of the court - those are the signs of a bad defender.

I actually think a 3 point centric team could end with a top seed in the NBA. The problem with the strategy is not that it doesn't win games, it is that it is a high variance strategy. Thus, you can do it throughout a regular season and end with a good record, but it will backfire in individual games (or perhaps a series in the playoffs). That's one of the reasons you see upsets (and then the lower seed losing) in the NCAA tournament is because a team can get really hot from 3 and just rain hell, and then go cold the next day.

he's also a mental midget and is horrible defensively. that's why daye isn't playing as much as we'd think.

Well, also because in the NCAA teams are vastly inferior defensively for a multitude of reasons compared to NBA teams. Setting up 3 point shots in college is cakewalk - basic ball movement will catch a lot of players out of position.
In the NBA having a 3 point centric offense takes a lot to pull off against the typical defense that is rotating: You've got to actually set up the shot as no one not named Ray Allen can hit off the dribble 3 pointers consistently, simple screens on the perimeter aren't going to result in lots of makes, and most importantly: Scoring in the paint is a much easier strategy with a much bigger payoff in terms of setting up other shots down the road.
The problem with the Knicks launching 40+ 3 pointers is that they only hit 18 of them. efg% is pretty useless here: They missed 25 shots of which are among the most difficult in the game. Hit what would be considered a good % of them and still managed only 89 points. All because they couldn't score inside to make the outside guys' lives easier. I kind of feel bad for D'Antoni because this is not the team he came here to coach, it isn't the team he wanted, and he didn't even want to give up Gallo and Felton for Melo.
I really hate this organization. No wonder Donnie Walsh got the fuck out of there.

orlando, among nba teams, runs the typical 3-point shooting offense the most. it's usually dwight + shooters. sometimes it works really well, sometimes it goes horribly. it's not a good way to build a championship team unless you have really consistent shooters, a rarity in the nba nowadays. the magic certainly don't.
also, dolan really chose a really bad time to stick his fingers into the bball side of the franchise (the melo trade) after he had been hands-off for so long. bleh. i'm also glad donnie got out of there, it pained me to see such a great guy for the pacers stuck there... and besides, i'm not going to shed any tears because the knicks are dysfunctional >_<

Well, it's not like anyone on the current Pistons team is playing lockdown defense anyway, and when he gets playing time he produces a lot more than the other SF's on the team (i.e. Damien Wilkins last night).. I can't see how much playing him would hurt the Pistons, because they're not winning without him (I think they reached 100 points for the first time this season yesterday, and that was after OT)..

Miami vs Chicago right now... Go Bulls!
|
Bulls need Deng. If Miami decides to pull out the old "Give the ball to Lebron" strategy they will win because no one can stop him besides Deng.
|
D. Rose is making some ridiculous floaters/runners in this game so far. Miami should know better than to let a team stick around until the 4th quarter though, considering their track record.

Haslem still looks werid to me with an afro

ROSE MVP BABYBYBYBYBYBYY!!!

This is a tragic meltdown by the Heat and Lebron. That's three possessions that were borderline atrocities. But Derrick Rose missing Free throws is just as bad. Shadows of Memphis amirite?
|
OMG, talk about anti MVP freethrows, he got to feel disgusted by that.
|
How much choking can occur at the end of one game lol?

LOL this is so good free throw shooting
