God I hate the jordan comparisons however slight they might be. 3 rings were when he was shaq's sidekick, and 2 rings AFTER they rebuilt the franchise into a great team regardless of whether kobe was on it or not. There's a reason why he only has 1 MVP title, and 2 finals MVPs is HARDLY impressive. No one is calling him bad, it's obvious he's the best player on the lakers and was one of the best in the league, but whenever he gets put into a conversation of top 10 goats I just can't help but speak out. Unless you guys are like...45 or older, Kobe is probably the second best 2-Guard you've ever seen play basketball. Just throwing it out there. And if you're 18 or younger, you've never seen Michael Jordan, even if you "saw" him. He's an unquestionable Hall of Famer, with crazy counting stats, 5 NBA Finals' rings and a semi-questionable MVP award. He, also, probably, had the best possible career that his true talent could have possibly allowed him. The real reason he could never be Michael Jordan? His hands are too small =/

Take away MJ and that group is hardly anything compared to other positions

If, for some reason, you allow 6 foot tall Allen Iverson on that list, then 6'' 2' Jerry West and 6'' 3' Earl Monroe goes on the list too and Havlicek and Gervin. If you want to just say "Swingman," Kobe Bryant is still probably the 3rd or 4th best you've ever seen. No single player can win an NBA championship on his own, so why people say "he needed a great team around him," that's like saying "the sun has to rise in the east." One man teams always lose deep in the playoffs. Lebron the year he single handedly smashed the Pistons, was toppled by the Spurs. Jordan carried his teams deep into the playoffs to be handed heartbreaking losses. Shaq took the Magic up against Hakeem's Rockets - and lost to the better team (and player!) Kobe took his team to the playoffs in 2006. That was a god damned miracle. Go back and look at that team. Was he a leader? I don't know. Was he fun to play with? I have no clue. Did he make Smush Parker and Kwame Brown and Luke Walton and Sasha Vujachic better? I don't care, those guys suck. He got within one game of beating the Suns, who went to the Western Conference Finals. The Suns had a better team. I know, shocking. Also, Pete Maravich was just a guy. He's got a famous nickname.

“You know what it is? You’ve got a lot of people on other teams hating the Lakers. It’s their fans,” Jacobs said Thursday, according to the New York Daily News . “Some of their fans are loud, obnoxious and just bad. “Just everywhere you go you’ve got them Laker fans, running their mouth about Los Angeles," Jacobs went on. "They keep going. It’s not really the team and Kobe and all that. They’re just like any other team in the NBA if you ask me. But their fans are the ones that have me really just feeling the way I feel.”

While I don't have actual 100% proof that he's one of the most skilled, driven and hard-working players to play the game, the fact that he is widely to be considered just that by other players, coaches, and anyone who covers the NBA closely. Every player who has played with him and every coach who has coached him holds the same opinion of him, whether they liked playing with him or not. When he decided to participate in Team USA, there was abundant evidence in the form of player and coach testimonials that he was the hardest working player who inspired the other members of the team to try to meet that level themselves. From watching him play, you can observe that he is probably the most complete player in the NBA skill-wise, and the only way you achieve that is through practice and working on your game over and over. True, Kobe is no Jordan and his five rings should not be used as an objective and indisputable measure of his greatness. However, he shouldn't, and doesn't, have to be Jordan or have to rely on his five rings to convince people that he's one of the all-time greatest players in the history of the NBA. That much is evident by what he shows on the court.

It seems the teams everyone loves to hate are the yankees, cowboys, and lakers. You know what they got in common? They're the fuck'n best (imagine Jay-z voice when bragging to Prokhorov about Beyonce's thighs). TLDR: + Show Spoiler + </ends troll voice>

This is basically just to nit pick but i hardly agree with this, look at all the top scorers prior the rule change, 80-90% of all scoring leaders were Big Guys. I believe what happened was that smaller players could get to the line much easier so the defence had to play much weaker bodies and it became more of a fast paced game with the perimeter players.
