He's won championships because he's had some talented, even stacked teams that really didn't need to be pushed over the edge except for the 2010 title. Which while Kobe was good, Gasol and Artest came up big for him.
That said, shit like "he's the most intense player in the league" is just more hyperbole and utterly useless rhetoric for sports story lines. There are plenty of players that have an intense desire to win. If Kobe ends up being franchised in Charlotte with 0 rings does it make his desire and intangibles any less?
He doesn't need to be the best. Who gives a shit.
He's good enough of a leader to win championships.
Kobe has always been known to work harder than everybody else on his team, same with Jordan. That intensity and dedication rubs off on everybody on the team.
2010 finals after being beaten by the Celtics game 5 and down 3-2 going into game 6. What Kobe did with his guys to win game 6 and 7 proved to me he is a true leader. There's no more doubt after the 5th ring was won. Get off his back.

No, the media and Kobe stans believe that Kobe works harder than everyone on his team. In fact if that was true it would be pretty sad since Kobe peaked about 5 years ago. But keep believing what you want.
Somehow Kobe's intensity and dedication rubs off enough but didn't show for himself. Or maybe Kobe was the one who turned Pau Gasol into a monster in 2010 as opposed to Kendrick Perkins knee or the presence of Andrew Bynum.

No, Kobe played like shit but he did what he had to do to win. But if you really think Kobe somehow pushed Pau Gasol to some untapped level of play then you need to stop goggling his sac. The myth of Kobe Bryant is one of the most disgusting things when it comes to sports fans.

If you don't believe it, no need to go around bad mouthing everyone else that does.

News Flash: Every superstar player in the NBA works hard. There is nothing unique about Kobe's work ethic. You think he's the only guy that has ever woken up early to train, or worked out immediately at the end of the season? I'm not even saying Kobe doesn't work hard at all but it's like if no one says Kobe is god you stans get upset. He's very good but he isn't some one in a life time legend.
|
Once in 15 years probably. We haven't seen a shooting guard of his size, skill and longevity yet. Wade might get there but he got into the league about 7 years later, we won't know yet, besides the fact that he's not a great comp. Had to look up stans on urbandictionary.

No one said he's a god or a life time legend. Now you're just making stuff up. Chillout. And what the fuck is a stan? Talk in a mature manner or don't go around calling everyone out. Makes you look like an angsty teenager.

Mind your biz, thanks.

I'm talking about his workout regime. There is nothing special about it at all. When it comes to Kobe the lengths people go to make him look better than every other player is despicable. The guy originally said Kobe works harder than everyone else on his team as if he lives with Lamar Odom to see how he spent his past 7 summers, or Pau Gasol playing in Spain and Eurobasketball leagues doesn't count as working. Pure hyperbole and bullshit as always because people think they know more than they do.

Oh that. Yeah, I have no strong feelings one way or another. I will say that Kobe does have a more refined game than many young players. Guards who can post are to be respected. Andre Miller, Chauncey Billups, Kobe - they work hard at that stuff. I have no idea if any one guy works harder than another though.

It's pretty much known at this point. When LeBron and Dwade compliment him on his work ethic, I'd take their word over an angsty teen on a TL subforum.
Keep trying though, it's fun to see you attack all the Kobe fans. And don't post in a forum if you want people to mind their own business, use PMs, thanks.

Ok so if it's well known tell me Smart Guy what does Kobe do more than anyone else on the Lakers? Where are the logs of his workouts? Can you show me the drills he's working on? Can you show me what quantifies as "working harder" than Pau Gasol? Oh no, you can't. So stop talking.
I'm almost probably the most well connected person here when it comes to NBA stuff. But hey, keep talking out of your ass. I love it when Kobe stans get upset.

Funny thing is there are a lot of guys that do work on post play but you'll never hear about it. The only guys you hear about are superstars and a lot of that is to build up hype and marketing. Notice how last year when we had the NBA thread and people kept saying Rose was on a different level than Chris Paul? Now look at how insane the Chris Paul hype has gotten and he's only played 1 game in LA.

Seriously, I can't figure out if McGee is talented or not.
|
He's talented but doesn't seem to be putting it all together yet. Also that team is young, but not exactly high on upside. A lot of ball stoppers and poor defense so even your best potential players can have screwed up development.

charlotte and miami getting it going

henderson with the clutch 3 lol
|
Wow, what a heartbreaking loss for the bobcats lol... can't believe they went to wade though for the last shot
|
Yea he was playing like shit + Henderson was playing him well (+ some weird injury to his left foot allegedly). The last few minutes of that game were sick.

ive been saying this since the cp3 / laker situation happened, i dont think the lakers are even going to make the playoffs this year.. but on another note, im hoping the warriors can pull a win tonight against the knicks without curry
