I know Dragic has been going really well lately but I think he's going to get massively overpaid based on recent form. I think the Rockets are in a good spot as they can really keep either or and have a solid starting option at PG. The Rockets have a really good team, but just need a star player to make them real contenders. Morey has been surprisingly patient since he almost completed to abomnation trade with the Lakers/Hornets that would have sent Pau to the Rockets. I'm looking at their cap space and it looks really strong. It appears they'll have roughly $20 mill to spend in the Summer depending on possible amnesties and Motiejunas coming on board. If they fiddle the money around right they should have at least enough for a max offer. Looking at who's available: Deron Eric Gordon (restricted) Ray Allen Gerald Wallace Nic Batum (restricted) Hibbert (restricted) All worth taking a stab at for the Rockets IMO. But outside Deron, no real franchise changing players (and their chances of signing Deron as slim to nil). So they'd have to look at trades in which case it might be worth resigning Dragic to use as a piece in a trade with Scola/Martin. Trades are always murky and I'm not really sure who's even available/realistic for the Rockets. It might be in their interest to just acquire as many positve assets as possible and see what's offered to them.

Popovich is still mad about last week and Bynum is sick. This doesn't look good. Spurs are going to bring it tonight.

Morey has been pretty patient waiting for that player, but it's just a matter of if he becomes available. They've got nice pieces to surround a top level player with. They're not so middling and limited that they need to blow it up, but they certainly need to make some FA and/or trade moves if they want to become a legitimate player in the West. Time will tell.

Going to have to come out and take MUCH better care of the basketball if they don't want to let San Antonio finish them off in the third quarter like the Lakers did a week ago.
