I was shocked at how Blizzard actually reworked almost exactly every aspect of usual Dota (and clones) that I have thought could use reworking. I trust in their ability to make it simultaneously easier to get into, and still very difficult to master. Blizzard's experience in making games shines here.

edit: watched the above video. definitely seems like Blizzard DotA will be faster paced and smart of Blizzard to try to differentiate themselves with gameplay additions/changes.

if they just tried to make a DotA clone, people won't flock to their unoriginal version. however, if they can actually make their DotA version and ideas work into being fun and challenging, then it could become a great hit since it'll be unique from other MOBA games.

Just saw the trailer. The "no purpose except for ladder points" had me on the floor. <3 Blizzard

Since this is most likely free (after you pay for SC2, of course) I'll definitely give this a shot when I'm too scared to ladder

Also seems far more basic and intuitive than Dota propers, with seemingly fewer heroes? (But I reckon no less fun)

Question: Will Blizzdota actually have a ladder?

On one hand the trailer goes "no purpose except for ladder points" and at the same time Blizzard is trying to have a casual approach to this.

In the panels they show that you use the matchmaking button to find opponents but still it could be like Diablo 3 arena where they hide your ladder ranking?

Edit:I found the answer. This picture shows that it is like SC2, there is a ladder and if you don't want to play ladder there are private games as well.

Not everyone is interested in Dota 2. I didn't stop playing Dota because of it's interface. I stopped because I didn't want to play Dota anymore. Personally looking very forward to Blizzards dota and think it could easily take a bunch of people from the other games.
