This game.

First played it YEARS ago (around 98, when it first came out).

Back then, me and my friend + friend's older brother + his friends were not able to figure out how to make your god damn farmers actually drop off the food -_-

They did, however, figure it out at some point though (at least one of them did unless they used cheats to get past the first map ;p)... But I never found out how/I've forgotten how because we didn't play it much (war 2/total annihilation/a bunch of other games were more fun they thought and yeah I did too just I didn't like giving up on games).

So basically. 7 years later, here I am, trying to play it again.

I can't make my units mine. THE FUCK!? No, I don't have a manual because it doesn't come with the game when you download it (it's abandonware now so it's legal too).

Anyone here played it? First mission says:
"Secure a cave.
Store 50 sacks for food and 50 sacks of stones" (or something very similiar to that).

First of all; what fucking cave? There's 3 (or 2 or whatever I can't remember) MINES on the map, you get stones from them. Cool. Except I can't get them to drop those off either! Hurrah.

There's some pumpkins on the map. No actually, there's a lot of pumpkins on the map.

Can't get them to drop those off either.

Aside from that, there's a ramp up to some cliffs but there's a rock/some stuff in the way so you can't go there, besides there's nothing interesting beyond those rocks anyhow. Then there's some more rocks.. some more rocks and yeah.

You can build a storehouse, so naturally I assume they are just a bit dumb and meant a storehouse when they said cave, right?

Wrong.

Well, first of all you have to put settlers in buildings to make them active.. And if you send a normal unit into your main sanctuary, he'll come out a settler - only thing is, that means you've lost something costing a bunch of food and shit so that's annoying (lost a fair few of my units trying to deliver food this way, they just drop it outside - bastards)!

So yeah, it's not that (even tried dropping the food at the 'x' outside the storehouse. Only thing that achieved is that they went there to eat when hungry instead of picking new pumpkins. Didn't increase my food counter at all, asdfasdf.

Then there's a building called culture - fucking useless, didn't do nothing.

And a barracks (yeah, I bet swordsmen are gonna help, I already have 3 of those anyhow, + I tried making one, didn't help).

You can build another sanctuary, or well, you could if you had the resources..

Uh yeah, has anyone played this? :[ Soooo annoying but I want to at least get past the first map..

Oh yeah and there's some enemy units that spawn a minute or two in which are easily killed off. So yeah, what's this cave thing then, eh?

Hmmm, I "think" I have played that game, like, 10 minutes.

I'd say if you make a Storehouse and tell your workers to go get food, they should drop it back automatically... anyway the Storehouse should be where they drop it, and you shouldn't have to order them to do so once you have one.

That link was good, it mentioned that storehouse's are also called caves..

I'm gonna go try again ; [ They better not just stand there this time as well!

Haha. I just figured out how to mine the food .

First, make your builder build a StorageHouse. After it's done, double click your Sanctuary and a Settler will come out. Select your Settler, and click on the StorageHouse. The StorageHouse should now be functioning. Now, select your Farmers, hold "ctrl", and a double green arrow icon should come out. Click on the food/pumpkins or whatever. After you click on the food/pumpkins, a double red arrow icon will appear. Click on your storage house, and they should continue mining by themselves.

No thank you needed.
