We? I'm one of the people who believe flusha and jw cheated at one point in csgo, but it doesn't mean i think they're pigs, arrogant or undeserving. I'm ok with pronax, olofm and krimz, i just don't like fnatic because of their history since jw/flusha, but theres no denying that those 5 are the GOAT in csgo so far. And what is arrogance when you're the best, if not being objective?
It's like when people read every tweet of NBK and see it as whining when the guy is just apologizing for losing
Of course theres always that loud and stupid majority.

Yeah, those incidents have been decimated a 100 times. However booing fnatic seems like a more recent thing, when they started to dominate.

He didn't say he thought people don't like them because they are the best, he said people call the best team pigs etc...

Naniwa was the best foreigner player in the world at one point, people still hated him for what he did.
People dont boo or hate someone because they want too, there are reasons for it
JW didnt handshake GTR, carn with that awful tweet, fnatic players abusing something that its ilegal by everyone (and everyone knows its ilegal) and feeling "good" about it, etc...
that "tweet" by cArn didnt help either, especially considering it was about abusing something ilegal*
I get what you are saying, but dont feel like you are on a next level because you dont boo fnatic.
Do i agree with the reaction ? No, of course not, i think it may have been just a little too much by now; do i understand it ? of course i do.
* = i could say that according to fnatic CGO abusing illegal stuff = counter strike

Alright, the boostmeister incident. I take it for their word that they didn't practice the boost(they even failed it the first round, right) so they didn't know that it would be that overpowered. They later forfeited the tournament
And yeah, that cArn tweet. The hype of the moment was quite big, you should have heard anders on the commentary for example

I think there was evidence they actually practiced it and told the guy who found the boost to shut up before the tournament. Of course the GOAT would know a boost like that is game breaking, they knew it was overpowered. I blame valve for forcing new maps into the map pool of majors. They forfeited because getting away with that kind of a win in a major was gonna be terrible for them and the scene
Anders has to hype because he's casting, he didn't know there was a specific rule forbidding the boost at the time

4k post about hellspawn, the shout out is real

So did boxer. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NBhJSxxDBXE
The other two reasons are even worse: one is just wilde guessing and the other is that a couple of years ago some people in fnatic and some in nip got mad over something, but no one cares enough to remember what it was.
The real reason, if you ask me, is that there are a lot of pricks in the csgo community and like children in a schoolyard they have to be mean to someone to feel good about themselves.

"had to be judged illegal"
pixel boosting/walking has always been banned, since 1.6.

The thing is, it wasn't actually banned by DreamHack. It wasn't in their rule book if I remember correctly. While I don't agree with Fnatic using it anyway, a lot of the blame has to be placed on DreamHack. A rule that is not clearly stated is no rule at all.

Great atmosphere, Vp fans were crazy :p And there were only a few Fnatic fans, every other major teams fans were against Fnatic which was kind of fun but A LOT of Boooing as well. Olof was pretty flustered on stage until Taz stepped in, which was cool. Anyways, great event, too bad Envy didn't bring it to the last map.
Also wasted 72 bucks on Pins, Opened like 3 Nuke Pins, 2 Train Pins and a Militia I think. Somehow managed to trade them away and luckily I got a Guardian Pin :D But still 1 Nuke Pin extra. Wonder what to do with them, I want to sell them but not too sure with how to deal with payment etc.
NiP did an impromtu signing session out of the blue and I caught it too late. I was in the queue but it was already over before it was my turn. So fucking sad but I managed to catch Friberg when he was leaving and still signing some stuff for fans. I took a selfie with him, which was nice. It was hectic and I felt so bad for him, he was totally not happy with such a big crowd bugging him ^^ Too bad I couldn't let him sign my stuff, still happy tho. I just want to punch everyone who is booing fnatic. Fucking moronic internet bullies. I bet you have never ever take step into a stadium before, its part of the game. You cant ask for rationality in such irrational situation, it just doesnt work like that, and if anything, fnatic organization and players could do some stuff to remedy the problem, events, signs, etc... Some PR stuff could do wonders. But the only thing we have is cArn saying "this is counter strike" after abusing an ilegal practice of pyxel boosting and textures missing, that doesnt help.
And/or they could just play themselves up as the villains of CS:GO (in the MC with SC2, not-cheating sense). Everyone loves a team to root against.

Well DreamHack also had a lot of shit for that.

It was but they didn't send the rules to every team or didn't include it or something. Dreamhack handled the whole thing poorly and their admins are terrible.

There was also the issue that people were posting fake pictures on reddit.

The handshake incident was because they played the wrong overtime mode after fnatic beat them (also error on DreamHack Bucharest's part), so NiP asked for redo of overtime. NiP still lost the second time, and that's when Fnatic got pissed and the whole video of it happened. At the time, only JW and flusha were on the team, flusha didn't actually say anything (not in the video anyways). The other main vocally angry person in the video was MODDII, schneider and a bit of devilwalk, but they've since all been replaced/kicked/left etc.
I disliked fnatic for a good while after that, but they've already apologized a ton for it so whatevs. They've also become the best team the world, so it's hard to hate them. Their play is just so good to watch.
With the boostmeister thing, I thought fnatic handled it pretty well. They were silent on twitter and just let the admins deal with it. On the other hand, LDLC (nV) were really vocal on twitter about it venting and complaining and rallied a lot of fan support on it. I remember a tweet or interview saying, what if another team like LDLC/NiP/VP had found and used it instead, everyone would be cheering and justifying it instead of booing/hating.

So, I started watching CSGO this weekend and the event was great. But is CSGO really that EU based? I mean, there was 11 EU teams on cologne and the 8 teams of ESL dubai are from EU...
The guys from the CS scene don't give a shit to develop other regions or are the EU teams are just that good?

sorry for double, was trying to edit

Back in CS 1.6, NA was actually comparable to EU at times. Complexity (US) were at one point the best team in the world. IIRC, back in 2006-2008, NA tried some DirectTV Championship Gaming Series (CGS) thing and put it on TV to make it a big deal, it flopped, and support for NA CS kind of died along with it.
CPL (Cyberathlete Professional League), which held events equivalent in prominence as what you saw this weekend, went broke, and along with it was their amateur feeder league (CAL), which kind of killed the scene. Some NA leagues stuck around, ie ESEA, but was never really that big any more. Meanwhile, EU was still there, so their scene was still strong coming into CSGO.
It's kind of hard to explain now, how after 3 years of CSGO, NA still sucks compared to EU, but at least that's the back story... sort of. Similar to how KR destroyed the rest of the world at BW.
