The transition of pro players to a sequel always interests me, who manages to stay at the top, which skills are completely transferable, which nuances of playstyles carry over and which are now almost useless. And it's always interesting to see the new players rise to the top of a new game and start destroying people.

Basically I want the TL of the CS world if that is even possible. :D Anyone? Unfortunately there's not any good forum for CS, but HLTV has (as already pointed out) good stats pages for both 1.6 and GO, as well as an extensive news archive and tournament coverage (text, photo, video). I can also recommend a blog by Thorin over at Sweden largest CS site Fragbite (http://www.fragbite.se/?blogID=9) on which he during last year posted several interesting and in-depth articles, interviews and retrospectives. For example "NiP - the clan who shaped Counter-Strike" or "eSTRO 2008 - the year that could have been".

NiP is really good, but not a guaranteed win. There's a few teams that can give them a run for their money, and provide excellent games.

Close games or not, they are dominating. Doesn't matter if they won every single tournament 3-2 with rounds ending up 16-14. They've won everything. And if they're at a LAN you stand absolutely no chance, they play lights out: Their LAN record as of 6 July 2013 (maps): 122 wins - 0 draw - 12 defeats Their LAN record as of 6 July 2013 (matches): 77 wins - 0 draw - 9 defeats

i'm really hoping Artesium Dragons (or whatever the fuck their name is) can get solid sponsorship and practice in to where they can start taking maps of NiP. cuz with all these other big teams disbanding/reforming, it looks like NiP is just gonna be holding the throne for the next year easily..

One of the only teams which had a decent chance and beating NiP at a LAN was Virtus.pro. Other teams could do okay, but really, VP was the only real threat.
