I found on gametracker some "valve.blahlbah" servers in singapore (like 30 of them actually, all 10/10 when i checked) Im assuming those are the official MM servers? Perhaps i could actually play again considering my pingtest to singapore is only 110MS. 110MS is OK right? I mean its not stellar ofc..but it'd be alright?

I mean, it's not optimal, but it's not horrible.

Or should I generally assume that I need a group? And are the wait times as long as they used to be? None of my friends wanted to play CS:GO when I first started, so I just played solo. 95% of the games I had awesome teammates, lots of communication, so the matches were fun even when we lost. From there I added people I enjoyed playing with, and now I play with a few different groups of people all the time (Even though they are way lower skill group and bring me down )So yeah, just play and have a good time, use mic and communicate as much as possible, if you do it you will encourage others to do it too! Friend requests to people you liked playing with and play with them whenever they are one! :D

And ends up losing the bomb in the most random place. And I hate people stabbing while running with the knife at the start of the game. It brings them nothing and they hurt their teammates. -_- At higher ranks, it's attributed to ESEA. At lower ranks, it's attributed to casuals. People tend to get them mixed up quite often as they switch between the two modes. In my opinion, you should only be able to backstab with the heavy knife attack, rather than both.

How is the ESEA scene? I miss it. I finally got my ESEA-M team to try GO out, and we were either roflstomping people or even playing bots...

Technically I would say it's accurate, but at the same time if you get stuck with really bad teammates (Like I did) you lose games you should have won. So by the time I won my 10 games, I got put in like Silver Elite. lol. I was basically going 40-5 every game for a few weeks until it started putting me against 4 star+ opponents. But since I made a lot of friends in those early games I still play with silver elite level friends, and so I play solo, go up to 4 stars, play with them, drop back down to 2 stars lol. I love how fast you change skillgroups though.

I haven't experienced this at all and in contrast I find the rankings to be pretty good. From gold nova masters (4star) to legendary eagle they seem accurate to me. I play at distinguished master guardian most of the time but I occasionally play with some AKs/Double AKs and I can see the difference. Similarly, seeing people's ranks and how they play in scrims on mill and mirage still reflects it fairly accurately. Maybe you're getting matched against old players who just bought the game or, as tofucake said, perhaps they're ESEA players who aren't at their real rank yet.

If you're silver and all your opponents are gold+, it means your mmr is around gold+ level. It's the systems way of finding players your skill level, regardless of your actual rank. To your second point of seeing silvers shit on golden AK's and Eagles. The only way this is possible is if the silver rank just had a friend play MM on his account. Any silver who can do well against golden AK's / Eagles will never stay in silver. You can basically carry yourself 1v5 through silver/low gold at that point.

Silvers vs Guardians means either A) silvers are playing higher mmr than rank, B) Guardians are playing lower mmr than rank, C) everyone is playing average mmr of both teams. 3. Account sharing is not the only way. Off the top of my head: ESEA players (as I said earlier), alt accounts, hackers, and puggers are also possible explanations for Silvers beating Eagles. 4. He's not said people are never changing ranks, just that these things happen. A sample size of 1 game doesn't mean anything

I haven't met anyone that's played 200 games that hasn't been the rank I feel they deserve. (sometimes they complain, but in reality they're an asshole despite how good they are.. and as a result, bring down the team.) As far as the ESEA scene is concerned, it's fine. It's about what you'd expect from the condition that GO is in right now. Scrims are available, but not abundant for teams. I blame internet hate bandwagon. Valve is doing a good job, deal with it. edit: obligatory hate comment towards MOBAs killing FPS.
